China's Zopo hopes to sell 1 million devices over the next year

Teaser
Zopo is aiming to sell tons of smartphones over the course of next year by entering India.

Zopo is a popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, and the company is planning on making sales in India a main source of revenue this year. India has recently become viewed as China was a few years ago; seen as a market untapped so far by smartphone companies. Many believe big name manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung may soon make India the next big country to expand into.

Recently, Zopo released its latest smartphone, the Speed 7, to India. The device features Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 2,500 mAh battery, and 3 GB of RAM, a great hardware specification for a smartphone by today's standards. The company feels that the country has great potential and is one of the fastest growing markets in the world right now. Zopo feels so strongly about doing business in India that they fully expect that in the next couple of years, more than half of its revenue will be due to sales in the country.

In the last quarter alone, according to IDC, smartphones shipped to India increased by nearly fifty percent. Zopo is relatively unknown in the United States, but the company is currently selling smartphones in over 135 different countries. Its presence in the states is expected to grow soon, and the strong sales in India may be what the company needs to reach further into the western world.
