Nissan confirmed in an interview that it would produce an electric GT-R with the goal of affordable supercar performance in mind. The Japanese carmaker previously predicted that it would release a solid-state-based EV by 2028. The recently-unveiled Hyper Force concept that clearly takes the GT-R design as inspiration features 1,341 hp.

Garmin has released Public Beta version 19.13 for the Edge 540, Edge 840 and Edge 1040 bike computers. The new software improves smart notifications and tackles several issues related to the weather. Special installation instructions have been provided as this is not a standard beta release.

The ADAC has shared the initial results of its battery lifespan test on the VW ID.3. The experiment measured the battery's health after 100,000 km (~62,137 miles), which has taken around two and a half years to complete. So far, the ADAC has observed lower wear than suggested by Volkswagen, though it plans to continue its testing.

ZeroCC looks to increase South Africa's low EV adoption rate by installing off-grid fast chargers along some of the country's biggest routes. The EV charging network will be powered exclusively by solar and wind power in an attempt to reduce the environmental impact.

The Intersport Nakamura E-GRAVEL bike is now on sale in France. The new model has an 80Nm torque motor with multiple assistance settings, including a Smart mode. Other features include a handlebar-mounted LCD, hydraulic disc brakes and up to 100 km (~62 miles) of assistance range.

Following the recent rescue of VanMoof, another e-bike company is now in financial trouble. Danish brand Mate Bike is currently taking steps to try to avoid bankruptcy and continue trading. Various factors appear to have contributed to the problem, including a drop in demand and supply chain issues.

Decathlon has discounted the 2022 version of the Electric Cargo Bike Rear Loading Longtail R500 in the UK and France. The model has a 250W motor and 672Wh battery for up to 90 km (~56 miles) range. The Rivian R1T has become the first all-electric vehicle to win the Rebelle Rally, which takes the crown as the US's longest off-road rally. The 2,500-km (1,553 miles) course crosses the Nevada and California desert, and racers must use traditional mapping methods to reach the finish.

Toyota claims it is nearing production on solid-state battery technology, predicting that it will start shipping production EVs with solid-state batteries as early as 2027, although initial volumes will be low. Fisker has dropped the price of the Ocean Extreme SUV by US$7,500 to US$61,449, putting it well below the standard Dual Motor AWD Tesla Model X and much closer to the US$52,490 Model Y Performance. Swappable batteries promise low down-time for commercial delivery companies, effectively extending range where swap stations are available. The MEV-Van concept is based on the compact Honda N-Van e: that debuted earlier this year, and will be trialled by Japanese delivery company Yamato Transport.

A heavily pockmarked Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted driving on the highway, with Elon Musk later stating that the vehicle had undergone some serious bulletproof testing. It seems the test went well, as Musk was pleased to announce that none of the rounds had managed to get into the Cybertruck’s passenger compartment.

Tesla's 2024 VIN decoder reveals that the Cybertruck will be available in two different powertrains at launch. Initially, it will only be available in AWD, and it looks like Tesla may have abandoned the planned quad-motor AWD version of the electric pickup truck, at least for now.

Toyota and Lexus have become the last big automakers to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard for their future electric vehicles. This will give future Lexus EVs access to the whole of Tesla's Supercharger network in the US.

The Juiced RipCurrent S e-bike is being discounted by US$800 in the Brushed Aluminum colourway due to a clearance of discontinued stock. The fat-tyre e-bike features a 1,000 W (1,300 W), throttle-operated hub motor that purports to deliver speeds upwards of 28 mph (~45 km/h) for a claimed 70 miles (~113 km) of range.

An as-yet unannounced Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance looks like it may come with a new badge that looks similar to the graphic shown when Ludicrous mode is active. Not much is known about the hardware, but it may represent a sort of Performance Plus variant of the Model 3 refresh.
