According to recent reports, Kia is delaying the launch of its EV4 electric sedan. The company’s Vice President supposedly made the announcement in a conference call. The EV4 was unveiled at the brand’s EV Day event last year alongside other electric vehicles like the EV3.

The launch of the Kia EV4 is supposedly being delayed until 2025, with the vehicle initially scheduled to arrive in 2024. A report by The Korean Car Blog citing “South Korean media report” suggests that Kia’s Vice President Woo-Jeong Woo made the announcement during a recent conference call.

According to the rumours, the Vice President did not explain the cause of the delay. Instead, they said the new plan is for the Kia EV4 to go on sale in early 2025, with the EV3, EV4 and EV5 to be “launched sequentially”. The EV4 was unveiled at the brand’s EV Day event in October, where it was publicized that the EV4 and the EV3 would launch together in the first half of 2024; Kia is still aiming to hit this timeline for the EV3.

The Kia EV4 is an electric five-door sedan built on the company’s E-GMP. It has been rumored that the model will have front-wheel drive, a 400V system and a LiFePO4 battery. However, the brand has not officially announced the vehicle’s performance details. It remains to be seen precisely when the Kia EV3, EV4 and EV5 will launch and how much they will cost; the company suggests retail prices in the region of $35,000 to $50,000.
