Both the Model Y and Model 3 Highland can now be had with a free FSD transfer in addition to the lifetime Supercharging offer. Tesla is stacking all of its available incentives for the first time as it seems really determined to pad the Q1 delivery numbers.

Any Tesla vehicle, including the shiny new Model 3 Highland that gets ordered between February 4 and March 31 can inherit not only the free lifetime Supercharging that goes with the buyer's previous Tesla, but also their Full Self-Driving Beta feature.

For the first time, Tesla is stacking free FSD and charging transfers with all other incentives it currently has, including for inventory vehicles, as well as with all federal and state tax credits that can collectively bring the price of a base Model Y to under $30,000 now.

This essentially means that one can buy a brand new Tesla Model Y Long Range for a bit over $37,490 with federal and inventory incentives, and then transfer their FSD option and free lifetime Supercharging to it. That's a pretty bonkers deal that would have been unthinkable just a year ago, but now that Elon Musk warned of a sales "slowdown," Tesla is evidently trying to pad the Q1 delivery numbers any way it can.

Free Tesla FSD transfer rules

There will surely be a lot of people taking it up on the offer and the incentive stacking, so here is the fine print to get free Full Self-Driving capability on any new Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X delivered between February 4, 2024 and March 31, 2024 when you forfeit the FSD on your current Tesla vehicle:

  • Be the legal and registered owner of a Tesla vehicle that currently has FSD Capability purchased outright at the time of delivery of your new Tesla vehicle and at least 48 hours after.
  • The vehicle cannot be the subject of a pending cancellation or buyback request or have any delinquent liens or balances.
  • Accept the forfeiture of the FSD Capability on your current Tesla vehicle or trade it into Tesla when you purchase your new Tesla vehicle. Tesla will remove the FSD Capability from your current Tesla vehicle within 48 hours after delivery of your new vehicle.
  • The FSD Capability will be added to your new vehicle up to one week after delivery of said vehicle. You understand that you may be without FSD Capability during this period.
  • The forfeiture of FSD Capability on your current vehicle cannot be reversed, even in the event that the new vehicle is deemed a total loss or you cancel or reverse the purchase of your new vehicle after delivery.
  • In such an event, FSD capability's value will be assessed at its original purchase price unless mandated otherwise by law.
  • The FSD Capability can only be transferred this one time.
  • This offer is not redeemable for cash, and cannot be assigned to another person or vehicle.
  • Used vehicles and vehicles used for commercial purposes are not eligible for this program.
  • Those on an Operational Lease with third-party Lease and Fleet Management companies are also ineligible.

The free FSD transfer is available to Tesla owners in the US, Canada, and Mexico, while the free Supercharging for life offer is only for US buyers. As a reminder, all Tesla Model Y versions in the US are also eligible for an immediate full $7,500 tax credit discount at the time of purchase, bringing their price in line with, or below that of the new Model 3 Highland.
