Microsoft has finally started selling the Surface Laptop Studio outside North America. The unusual laptop is available from £1,449 in the UK and €1,699 in Eurozone, but starts at £1,899 and €2,199 with a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. The Surface Laptop Studio will ship later this month.

Hasee has released new variants of its ZX9 gaming laptop with a rather strange CPU and GPU combination. For some reason, one variant, the ZX9-DA3DA, features an Intel Celeron desktop processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU. The presence of an LGA 1700 socket provides some added upgradability that most laptops lack, though.

Humble Choice has suspended its support for Mac and Linux systems as the company develops a new launcher for its subscription. The launcher will only be available for Windows PCs on February 1. Subscribers on Mac and Linux have until the end of the month to download DRM-free games from the Trove collection that are still supported, as some of these indie games will no longer be available in Mac and Linux versions.

Analysts have now discovered that attackers behind the Magniber ransomware, who have been exploiting IE-based vulnerabilities so far, are now targeting PCs via modern browsers such as Edge and Chrome. The Magniber ransomware is disguised as a legit update package for Edge or Chrome and comes as a signed .appx file. Installing this "update" will encrypt all user data and demand money for decryption.

It may have taken four months, but Microsoft has finally released Surface Pro 8 configurations with LTE modems. Only available as the Surface Pro 8 for Business, LTE configurations start at US$1,299.99. Microsoft has chosen the old Snapdragon X20 LTE modem for the Surface Pro 8.

ASUS has revealed the ExpertBook B3 Detachable, a 2-in-1 tablet powered by a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform. Available with up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, the 10.5-inch tablet runs Windows 11 Home S or Windows 11 Pro.

The Ryzen 9 5900HX APU and the GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU bring all modern computer games smoothly onto the matte Full HD display (240 Hz) of the A5 X1. It scores points with good color reproduction. The laptop also offers space for up to three storage drives.

ASUS has upgraded the ROG Flow X13, its 13.4-inch convertible with a 4K display. The ROG Flow X13 now features the new Ryzen 9 6900HS and AMD's Radeon 680M iGPU. ASUS still offers the ROG Flow X13 with an RTX 3050 Ti, but the machine can also be connected to an RTX 3080 or an RX 6850M XT for extra graphics horsepower.

ASUS has revealed the ROG Flow Z13, a tablet in which it has crammed a Core i9-12900H and RTX 3050 Ti. The tablet has a 4K and 16:10 display too, along with support for the company's external graphics card docks.

One-netbook has confirmed when it will launch the ONEXPLAYER mini, its latest handheld gaming device. The ONEXPLAYER mini is already orderable in Japan with a 1200p display, a Core i7-1195G7 and 16 GB of RAM. The ONEXPLAYER mini will arrive globally before the middle of January.

Lenovo is updating its well-known line of X1 ThinkPad laptops. The 14 inch models ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 and ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 7 build upon existing designs - the new releases include OLED screen options, a 1080p webcam and Intel Alder-Lake U15 or P28.

The AYA NEO NEXT has been revealed, which will be available in four configurations. The Ryzen 7 5800U-powered machine will launch for at least US$1,265 when it goes up for crowdfunding next month. However, little has changed between existing AYA NEO models and the AYA NEO NEXT.

Epic Games is offering Tomb Raider GOTY, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and the Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for free on PC. The Tomb Raider Trilogy should run well on most systems, but the promotion ends soon.

Update | With the ThinkPad Z series, Lenovo is creating a completely new product line that aims at revamping the design of the business laptop line. The compact Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 includes premium materials, a new touchpad and a better webcam as well as an exclusive AMD Ryzen chip.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has received a refresh to Alder Lake-P processors and NVIDIA Ampere GPUs. The upgraded machine starts at US$1,799 and rises to US$4,199 for a configuration with a Core i9-12900H, RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

The Aspire 1 comes with an IPS screen, an Office 365 Personal one-year subscription and great battery life. The notebook is based on an ARM chip, which is passively cooled. The whole package costs only 273 Euros (~$309).

The GPD P2 Max 2022 will launch early next year and with a handy performance uplift over its predecessor. The newer model will share plenty of features with the original P2 Max though, including its 8.9-inch and 1600p display.

Acer’s 14-inch laptop scores some major points thanks to its great battery life, silent operation, keyboard backlight and matte IPS screen. The quad-core Pentium Silver N6000 performs about as well as a Skylake chip. Windows is not included.
