The leaked slides for the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 gaming laptop highlight top features like the powerful i9 Comet Lake-H CPUs and the quality display options that include 144 Hz 1080p and 4K 60 Hz screens. The slim design restricts the dGPU to an RTX 2060, unfortunately; however, to keep things cool, Lenovo throws in an advanced vapor chamber.

The mystery is finally solved, as a new leak has revealed almost all details about the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano. The upcoming ThinkPad flagship will feature Intel Tiger-Lake CPUs, a extremely lightweight chassis that weighs less than 1 kg - and a 13 inch 16:10 screen. Seemingly, the new ThinkPad laptop is made to compete with Dell's XPS 13 9300.

One concern that Apple Mac fans have had is whether Apple’s new ARM-based Macs will continue to support Intel’s Thunderbolt high-speed I/O tech. In statement provided to The Verge, Apple has confirmed that it will continue to support Thunderbolt despite its forthcoming transition from Intel to ‘Apple silicon’.

Intel has announced the Thunderbolt 4 protocol and new Thunderbolt 4 controllers, which build on the capabilities of Thunderbolt 3 and also form the basis for the USB4 spec. Thunderbolt 4 offers the same throughput as Thunderbolt 3 along with additional platform and security features while also expanding the Thunderbolt dock ecosystem. Thunderbolt 4 will be compatible all existing USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 standards and will be first seen in Tiger Lake-powered laptops later this year.

The major update of the compact 2020 ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the more compact power adapter. You also get new processors, but they do not offer a performance advantage. The new X1 Carbon is once again a very good business laptop, but you can just get the previous model and save money.

Belkin has launched its latest Thunderbolt 3-enabled dock that is calling the Dock Core. The new hub supports up to two 4K monitors at 60 Hz or a single 8K monitor at 30 Hz.

There are many products on the market that claim to convert M.2 NVMe SSDs into fast portable external storage. However, OWC claims that its own such housing is the first to come certified for Thunderbolt 3 speeds. Accordingly, it may achieve 1.533 gigabytes per second (GB/s) in "real-world performance".

Update: Problem fixed. We currently have two review samples from Lenovo's new ThinkPad T-series in our office, but neither the ThinkPad T14 CPU, nor the ThinkPad T15 CPU, can utilize their Turbo Boosts and only run at the base clock of 1.6 and 1.8 GHz, respectively.

Lenovo has released more details of a new addition to the IdeaPad Slim 7 line of notebooks. This one is powered by the Core i7-10750H processor, rather than the Ryzen 7 4700U like its 14-inch counterpart. However, the OEM has included dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics here...even if it is an older card.

Lenovo is revamping its workstation lineup. MSI is updating the high-end Trident X lineup of slim gaming desktops with CPU options like the i7-10700K(F) and i9-10900K. The roadmap leaked by a trusted source close to GamersNexus shows how AMD may skip 2021 entirely and launch the Zen 4 desktop CPUs along with the Zen 3 APUs in 2022 with support for DDR5 RAM and USB 4.0, citing the current uncertain economic climate brought upon by the global pandemic.

Early backers of the GPD Win Max handheld PC during its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will be able to secure one of the mini gaming laptops for US$779. The Win Max features an Intel Ice Lake processor and comes with a built-in game controller and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The crowdfunding campaign is expected to start on May 18.
The retail price for the Win Max will be US$885; crowdfunding ends on June 30.

The alleged pre-sale price and post “early bird” deal price for the GPD Win Max handheld computer have been leaked ahead of its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The prices, which are for the Chinese market, are mentioned as 4,999 yuan (US$706) rising to 5,799 yuan (US$819) for those who don’t take advantage of snapping up the GPD Win Max early enough.

The 15.6-inch XPG XENIA will be the first gaming laptop from ADATA. Upon closer inspection, however, the system will be using the same chassis design that Intel launched back in mid 2019.

The official Dell slides leaked on reddit confirm the slimmer and smaller chassis on the Precision 5750, as the mobile workstation will be fitted with 92% display/body ratio IGZO screens. Specs include Comet Lake-H or Xeon CPUs with up to 64 GB of DDR4-2933 RAM, up to 4 TB dual NVMe storage, Quadro RTX 3000 GPUs and 4x Thunderbolt 3 connectors. The XPS 17 9700 should get similar specs except it will not get the Xeon and Quadro options.

The latest Portégé X slim and light business laptops come with a host of improved security features along with upgrades like the Intel gen 10 Comet Lake-H CPUs, Wi-Fi 6 support, Sharp IGZO displays, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and military-grade durability.

GPD has been slowly drip-feeding general information and technical details about the upcoming Win Max handheld console lately. Images of the device’s motherboard have just been posted online and somewhat scant updates in regard to the price and campaign release for the handheld computer have also been offered.

The new Apple MacBook Air 2020 was supposed to deal with two major issues of the popular subnotebook by implementing a new keyboard and the choice of more powerful quad-core processors. But the performance and the cooling system is still a major problem, but it looks like Apple does not want to change that.

When Lenovo announced the new 2020 ThinkPad lineup in late February, the addition of Thunderbolt 3 to the AMD versions of the new ThinkPad T14, ThinkPad T14s and ThinkPad X13 was big news. Two months later and close to the release of the new devices, it turns out that the initial spec-sheet was wrong: Thunderbolt remains Intel-exclusive.
