Gigabyte’s updated AERO series provides powerful productivity performance for professional content creators combined with thin-and-light portability, and exceptionally detailed visuals with true-to-life color accuracy thanks to the inclusion of new professionally calibrated display options
According to Gigabyte’s press release, the refreshed AERO models still integrate Thunderbolt 3 connectors, so it is safe to assume that there are no new 11th gen Tiger Lake-H CPUs options. The main improvements appear to be focused on the new displays, the next gen Nvidia GPUs and Gigabyte’s redesigned thermal management.
Featuring the world’s first Xrite Pantone color calibrated OLED displays, the AERO 15 OLED model is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified and covers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. In fact, all AERO models benefit from new panels that are calibrated in-factory before shipping out. The 17.3-inch AERO laptops come with 4K HDR and FHD IPS screens, while the 15.6-inch version can be equipped with either the new 4K OLED or the high refresh rate FHD IPS panel.
As far as processor and GPU options go, the 4K variants feature up to an i9 CPU and up to an RTX 3080 mobile GPU, while the FHD models are limited to i7 processors. For some reason, the AERO 17 FHD is further limited to at most an RTX 3060 mobile GPU, while the AERO 15 FHD offers up to an RTX 3070 solution. The addition of such powerful dGPU options recommend these models as serious gaming rigs, as well.
Besides the Thunderbolt 3 port and the usual USB-A connectors, the updated AERO models now benefit from an HDMI 2.1 video output along with the DisplayPort 1.4, and Gigabyte also includes a full-size UHS-II SD card reader.
Pricing and availability info will be disclosed at a later time.
