Gigabyte has several laptop upgrades in store following the new Ampere mobile launches from NVIDIA. Gigabyte says its new Aorus 15P and Aorus 15G gaming laptops offer better airflow and improved thermal headroom to get the most of out the high-performance hardware inside.
The Aorus 15P and Aorus 15G are largely similar offerings aimed at eSports gamers. The primary difference between these two models is the thickness — the Aorus 15G is 0.9 inches thick whereas the Aorus 15P is tad bulkier at 1.06 inches.
The Aorus 15G is offered in two variants — the 15G YC and the 15G XC. Both feature exactly the same specifications including the Core i7-10870H CPU except that the 15G YC is offered with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Mobile GPU while the 15G XC comes with an RTX 3070 Mobile. Connectivity, port selection, and battery life is also the same for both the models.
Similarly, the Aorus 15P also comes in two flavors — the 15P XC and the 15P KC both powered by the Core i7-10870H. Once again, the specifications are largely identical between these two SKUs. The only difference is that the Aorus 15P XC features the RTX 3070 Mobile while the 15P KC offers the RTX 3060 Mobile.
Like the previous generation Aorus models, the Aorus 15P and Aorus 15G continue to offer one-click game optimizations powered by Microsoft Azure AI that dynamically adjusts the CPU and GPU voltage settings depending on the use case.
Gigabyte is taking pre-orders for the Aorus 15P and Aorus 15G. The company said that it will reveal more information about GPU performance and improved thermal management on January 26.
