Up until now, users who wanted Intel's latest 11th gen Tiger Lake-U CPUs would have to settle with non-vPro options like the Core i3-1115G4, Core i5-1135G7, or Core i7-1165G7. Even worse is the fact that last year's 10th gen Ice Lake processors never received any vPro variants at all leaving many business laptops stuck with Comet Lake-U and ancient UHD Graphics. Fortunately, Intel will finally begin shipping vPro-enabled Tiger Lake CPUs in the next couple of weeks and Dynabook will be one of the first OEMs to use them.
According to the press release, the high-end Portege X30L-J, Portege X40-J, and Portege X30W-J business laptops will all have new Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7 vPro options in addition to the standard Core i3-1115G4 to Core i7-1165G7 non-vPro ones. Business users can now enjoy the massive GPU gains of Iris Xe without needing to sacrifice vPro features.
Note that the three aforementioned Portege laptops were already announced late last year meaning the changes for CES 2021 are internal only. See our existing pages on the laptops to learn more about their physical features and specifications. The X30L-J, X40-J, and X30W-J can be ordered today for $1329, $1299, and $1549 USD, respectively.
Note that some laptops like the XPS 13 or MSI Prestige 14 have already been shipping with the Core i7-1185G7 albeit without vPro features.
