Sega reveals a 'strategic partnership' with Microsoft to implement Azure cloud services
Sega has announced in a press release that the company will be collaborating with Microsoft in its ‘Super Game’ initiative. This initiative leverages Microsoft’s cloud services to generate online games that are original and inventive.
The corporation proposed that its joint partnership with Microsoft ensures that the company is prepared for future gaming demands. By implementing Azure services, Sega aspires to boost game development and maximize efficiency to produce first-class games.
Microsoft has a history of working together with other video game publishers that implement its Azure cloud services. In 2019, Microsoft and Sony formed a partnership that is comparable to the ‘strategic alliance’ between Microsoft and Sega.
According to IGN, Sega can benefit from its relationship with Microsoft by taking full advantage of Azure and can advance the company’s game development via AI technology, network capabilities, IT infrastructure and software as well as assisting the production of cloud games.
Furthermore, Windows Central reported that the ‘Super Game’ project aims to encompass a ‘global online community’. However, the partnership is in its early stages and the project is very far away from being launched.
