The Asus VivoBook S15 S533EQ comes with a Thunderbolt 4 port

The Asus VivoBook S15 S533EQ is an all-rounder in the 15.6-inch format. The configuration variant provided to us is currently available for about 1,266 Euros (~$1,545). In return, you get a Core i7-1165G7 processor with 16 GB of RAM (dual-channel mode; soldered) and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. On top of that, there's a GeForce MX350 graphics core in the laptop. This combination provides enough computing power for all common application scenarios.

In principle, the GeForce MX350 graphics core provides a higher level of computing power than the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 96EU GPU that's integrated into the processor. However, the difference isn't too big. The MX350 scores particularly well in areas where it can utilize its dedicated GDDR5 graphics memory. If graphics performance is secondary, VivoBook models without a GeForce GPU could be a cheaper alternative for many prospective buyers.

If the GeForce GPU doesn't meet the requirements, it's possible to connect a stronger, external GPU in stationary use. The built-in USB Type-C port (Power Delivery, DisplayPort via USB-C) makes this possible since it supports Thunderbolt 4. The port also proves to be useful in mobile use: It can be used to power the laptop using a USB power adapter. The included proprietary Asus power adapter doesn't necessarily have to be used.

The display (Full HD, IPS) is no cause for enthusiasm. Its positive aspects include stable viewing angles, a matte surface, and decent color reproduction. But brightness, contrast, and color-space coverage are disappointing, on the other hand.
