RTX 3050? More like GTX 3050. Nvidia introduced the "RTX" moniker to imply real-time ray tracing capabilities and acceleration, but the GeForce RTX 3050 is looking worse than even the GTX 1660 Ti.

An Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX Cezanne APU and Nvidia RTX 3080 Laptop GPU has been spotted on Geekbench. While we do see performance gains compared to an average Ryzen 9 5900HX, they are not very high and seem to be well within the margin of error.

A new entry on UserBenchmark shows that Gigabyte has a new AORUS 17G gaming laptop in development with an Intel Alder Lake processor containing 14 cores and 20 threads. The machine also has DDR5 RAM clocked at 4,800 MHz.

According to a new report, Microsoft is readying a next-generation Surface Book, albeit one that could be unrecognisable from the Surface Book 3. Chuwi has released initial details and pictures of its latest laptop, the LarkBook X. The device has a 2K and 16:10 display, along with a 10 mm thick chassis. A 6 W processor will probably hold the LarkBook X back, though.

A Newegg listing of the AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX-powered Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo SE was spotted online. Its specs include a GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Cezanne-based processor was also spotted on the Userbenchmark database.

C'mon, HP. It's time to give AMD Zen 3 options for your Spectre lineup, too. The 8-core Ryzen 7 5800U is one of the fastest U-series CPUs in the market and yet it is not available on HP's best prosumer laptop series.

MSI announced the E16 Flip at CES 2021, but it has upgraded the machine with newer processor and GPU options. While the 120 Hz display remains, the device is now available with up to a Core i7-1195G7 and a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti.

The latest iteration of the Xenia 15 gaming laptop is powered by the i7-11800H processor coupled with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, a new 1 TB XPG Gen 4 SSD and either an RTX 3070 or 3060 dGPU from Nvidia. It's a tradeoff between fan noise and performance, but the reduction in noise will likely far outweigh the performance deficit that entails for most office users.

There is a clear distinction in Lenovo's ThinkPad lineup as to which series is more premium: The ThinkPad T-series ranks ahead of the ThinkPad L-series. Nevertheless, there's one area where the ThinkPad L-series scores better, because the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 AMD can be upgraded more than all other current 14-inch ThinkPads.

Xiaomi has launched 2 new laptops for the Indian market, which it calls the RedmiBook 15 Pro and the e-Learning Edition of the same. Both of these machines have the same 19.9mm deep chassis with 15.6-inch FHD displays, finished in polycarbonate for mobility and affordability. However, the two variants have their own choices of 11th-gen Intel chipsets and SSDs.

The latest roadmap is quite in line with the one leaked by Moore's Law Is Dead a few months ago, but also expands the timeline to 2025 and adds a couple of new families, complete with core cluster names, estimated release dates and performance comparisons to future AMD and Apple models.

Retailers have shared details for a new ASUS ProArt StudioBook with a 16-inch display. ASUS has paired the 16:10 OLED panel with an AMD Ryzen 9 APU, a 90 Wh battery and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. The 16-inch device will support upgradable RAM, too.
