Lenovo ThinkPad T15 & T14 Gen 2 still offer 1.8 mm key travel and are upgraded with Ryzen 5000 & Tiger Lake

Some of the 2021 ThinkPads have been redesigned by Lenovo. Not so the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 and T15 Gen 2: Both still use the same chassis as their predecessors. They are new on the inside though, as both will be offered with the newest Intel and AMD processors.

New Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 stays with 16:9 & adopts 1.5 mm travel keyboards, new aluminum option

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 was one of the best business laptops of 2020. The successor Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 does introduce a new design as well as a platform update with AMD Ryzen 5000 and Intel Tiger Lake, but it still uses 16:9 screens, unlike the new X13. Like the X13, the keyboard travel is reduced.

Single-core vs multi-core: Latest Intel Core i9-11900KF Geekbench run shows improvement but it's the same old story as the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X offers multi-core magnificence

The Intel Core i9-11900KF has taken another trip to Geekbench where it has managed a stronger performance in the multi-core test. However, the result when compared to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X will leave desktop PC builders trying to solve the old single-core vs. multi-core quandary. The Rocket Lake i9-11900KF was pushed to almost 5.3 GHz.

The Intel Core i9-11900KF got stuck in the deep end when it came to multi-core performance. (Image source: Intel/Showbiz - edited)

Intel Core i9-11900KF plunges past 5 GHz on Geekbench but multi-core cramp leaves it out of its depth against AMD's Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X

An Intel Core i9-11900KF processor from the Rocket Lake series has been spotted on Geekbench, where it managed a maximum frequency over 5 GHz. However, despite its fast clock rate, the single-core performance result left the i9-11900KF in the same vicinity as the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X. The Zen 3 Vermeer CPUs are lengths ahead in multi-core benchmarking, though.
