Exclusive | AMD Radeon RX 6600 specifications and high pricing leaked by UK retailer ahead of October 13 announcement
AMD is expected to unveil the Radeon RX 6600 next week, its latest RDNA 2-based desktop graphics card. Supposedly due on October 13, the card will only arrive via AMD's add-in board (AIB) partners, such as Sapphire. However, Newegg has already published UK pricing for at least one card, which has appeared previously at a Portuguese retailer.
As the screenshot below shows, Newegg expects to sell the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6600 for £435.59, including VAT. Excluding VAT reduces the price to £348.47, which currently converts to about US$475. While much cheaper than Newegg's RX 6600 XT listings, £435.59 and US$475 are well above the XT's MSRP of £329 and US$379. Hence, expect higher than MSRP pricing for the RX 6600 when it launches.
The listing also confirms all key RX 6600 specifications. As expected, the card has 1,792 Stream Processors, 28 Compute Units and 8 GB of GDDR6 and 128-bit VRAM. AMD has also equipped the RX 6600 with an 8-pin power connector, 32 MB of Infinity Cache and 28 Ray Accelerators. A 500 W PSU is recommended too, with three DisplayPort 1.4 ports and an HDMI connection handling video output.
Incidentally, VideoCardz has revealed five other custom RX 6600 cards. Presumably, AMD's AIBs have prepared other custom models for release too, but the five leaked so far are:
- ASRock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D
- ASRock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger ITX
- PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 Fighter
- PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 Hellhound
- XFX Radeon RX 6600 Speedster SWFT 210
