Despite being in the market for several months, graphics cards prices are still nowhere close to where they should be. AMD SKUs, in particular, seem to be getting progressively costlier. A new post on the Board Channels forums (via Videocardz) suggests that the Gigabyte-branded AMD graphics cards could get a tad more expensive, even for the lucky few that manage to snag one at MSRP.
The top-of-the-line Radeon RX 6900 XT appears to be immune to the price increase. Its younger siblings, the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800, will see a price increase of RMD 500 (US$78) and RMB 300 (US$48), respectively. Lastly, the Radeon RX 6700 XT, RX 6600 XT and the RX 6600 could get dearer by RMB 200 (US$31).
It isn't immediately clear when the increased prices will go into effect, but we can expect it to happen in the coming weeks. Furthermore, the increased Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 6000 series prices could apply only to the Chinese market. However, it could have a cascading effect on worldwide markets at some point. Whether or not other board partners follow suit and jack up prices remain to be seen.
