Last week, @KOMACHI_ENSAKA tweeted about the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, two upcoming desktop graphics cards. Supposedly, AMD will base both on its Navi 24 GPU, which it will also use in the RX 6300M, RX 6500M, PRO W6300M and the PRO W6500M.
While @KOMACHI_ENSAKA offered only vague details about the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, VideoCardz has received more information about the pair. Reportedly, AMD has opted for a Navi 24 XL GPU in the RX 6400 that will contain 768 Stream Processors, 16 MB of Infinity Cache and 12 Ray Accelerators.
The graphics card will also have 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running at 14 Gbps on a 64-bit memory bus. Hence, the RX 6400 should have a 112 GB/s memory bandwidth. According to VideoCardz, the RX 6400 will lack any dedicated power connectors. Instead, the graphics card will rely on the 75 W provided by the PCIe slot.
While the RX 6500 XT will contain the same memory configuration, VideoCardz is unsure if it has a dedicated power connector. However, it asserts that the Navi 24 XT GPU on which it is based has 1,024 Stream Processors and 16 Ray Accelerators, along with the same capacity of Infinity Cache.
AMD is expected to announce the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT in Q1 2022. Allegedly, the RX 6500 XT will ship first, although it is unclear when. AMD is thought to advertise the pair for 1080p gaming, too.
