Even seemingly mid-range Nvidia and AMD graphics cards are nigh impossible to acquire in these dark times. To make matters worse, several Gigabyte-branded AMD cards could get a bit more expensive in the next few weeks. Hence, PC enthusiasts are waiting with bated breath for companies to launch their entry-level SKUs with bated breath. On the AMD side of the aisle, we get the Radeon RX 6500 XT and the RX 6400. Now, some new information about both graphics cards' has emerged online.
A Bilibili user (via Wccftech) has shed some light on when one could potentially get their hands on the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400. Both SKUs are expected to ship with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The former is expected to hit shelves sometime in mid-January 2022 and the latter in March. The information sits in line with earlier reports which suggested that both models would be unveiled in Q1, 2021. The post rounds things off by stating that the Radeon RX 6400 wouldn't require an external power adaptor due to its sub-75W TDP.
Unlike their better-specced siblings, the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 XT will be of little use to cryptocurrency miners. One cannot mine Ethereum on it due to the limited VRAM, although it could still be used to acquire other altcoins. Interestingly enough, the mobile Radeon RX 6300M and RX 6500M are also in the pipeline. Intel and Nvidia are due to launch their entry-level SKUs in 2022 as well, so the year is shaping up to be a splendid one for gamers on a tight budget.
