Pay more for less: Custom AMD Radeon RX 6400 on sale in Singapore at a higher retail price than the RX 6500 XT
AMD’s latest low-end GPU offering, the Radeon RX 6400, is set to make its debut on April 20. However, the GPU is already on sale in Singapore. The retailer in question is NVX System Integrators and the card it carries is the MSI Radeon RX 6400 AERO ITX.
RX 6400 is nothing to write home about. It carries 768 Stream Processors, 4 GB of GDDR6 memory, 16 MB of Infinity Cache, 2039 MHz base, and 2321 MHz boost clock. By comparison, RX 6500 XT carries 1024 Stream Processors, 16 MB of Infinity Cache, 2610 MHz base, and 2815 MHz boost clock with a similar 4 GB of GDDR6.
In other words, the RX 6400 is quite a bit weaker than the RX 6500 XT. So, it is peculiar to see that the MSI RX 6400 AERO ITX listed on NVX System Integrators for 349 SGD is more expensive than the RX 6500 XT MECH 2X carrying a retail price of 329 SGD. Per VideoCardz, the retailer confirmed that the price of the MSI RX 6400 listed for sale is the MSRP and doesn’t include a premium.
Furthermore, NVX System Integrators also revealed that the retailer has been getting the RX 6400 from MSI since March. It remains to be seen whether the price will change when the card officially goes on sale.
