The Yoga 16s 2022 is Lenovo's latest 16-inch Ryzen 5000-based laptop
Lenovo has now made the Yoga 16s 2022 official today (November 2, 2021), alongside its Pro 14s Carbon 2022 counterpart and the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6. With its Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3050 graphics, the 16s 2022 might be a fairly top-end example of what is to come for PCs of its series that are to come with Windows 11 out of the box.
The OEM had previously confirmed that the 16s 2022's 16:10 2.5K display will have a 120Hz refresh rate. However, it has now also revealed that it has an additional 144Hz mode, although this drops its color-depth to 8-bit, as opposed to the PC's top 10-bit spec.
The 16s 2022 has a max brightness of 500 nits, supports the DisplayHDR 400 standard, 100% of the sRGB color gamut, exhibits DC-dimming and is TÜV Rheinland- and Eyesafe-certified.
Therefore, the new PC's display may not be quite at M1 MacBook Pro-level - however, it might compete better with those new Apple laptops in terms of ports. Its larger size can accomodate the HDMI port and full-sized SD card reader absent in the Pro 14s Carbon 2022. Then again, there is only 1 USB type-C port (along with dual type-As), which is at least free from charging duties as there is also a DC port for the 16s 2022's 75Wh battery.
Lenovo has now put the Yoga 16s 2022 up for pre-order at 7,499 yuan (~US$1,172) for a SKU with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD; however, this price might increase to 8,299 yuan (~US$1,297) after the OEM's Singles' Day festival.
