Eyesafe, a body that issues standards and certificates for low blue-light emissions in display products, has announced a new addition to its board of directors. Frank Azor finds it an honor to join Eyesafe in this capacity, and has noted its potential role in user health protection, particularly as screen-time has skyrocketed during the Covid-19 era.

Eyesafe hails the latest addition to its board as a "gaming and technology pioneer". Frank Azor may be best known as the co-founder of Alienware, even if he has since moved on to be the chief architect of gaming solutions at AMD since then.

Accordingly, the user eye-health authority asserts that Azor has "decades of experience that span technology, personal computing and gaming" to apply to his new position. The group's badges of conformity to its standards for high-energy visible light (HEVL) reduction are already increasingly common features of newly-launched devices, mostly monitors, with more demanding use-cases.

Eyesafe's low-blue-light and color performance requirements have been developed with the help of engineers, doctors and scientists in relevant fields...and now they also have Azor. Its CEO Justin Barrett now projects that the executive's "deep knowledge of the gaming industry will power our expansion plans across displays targeting the consumer and gaming markets".
