TCL has confirmed that its upcoming display panels have attained an Eyesafe display certification for blue-light reduction and color performance. This standard has been developed to protect user eye health. They are applied to various screen types, those for PCs or monitors included, and may become a preferred spec in the new devices of the near future.

TCL has set up a new division, China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), to develop display tech for the next generations of devices such as notebooks and all-in-ones. It has also collaborated with Eyesafe, an organization responsible for "the most advanced health and safety requirement" for user visual health conservation.

This partnership has resulted in the conferral of this group's Display Certification for Low Blue Light and Color Performance on CSOT's new panels. This achievement follows independent testing conducted by the TUV Rheinland safety-assurance body.

The division asserts that its new award will make it more attractive as a supplier of panels that can be used for longer without the potential health detriments linked to blue light exposure. According to new research, average screen-use time has now reached 13 hours a day among US adults in the Covid-19 era.

Therefore, TCL CSOT now believes that OEMs will be more likely to demand panels with eye health-conscious properties users may be more drawn to in their next PC.
