TCL wins 2020 Red Dot and IF Design awards for the new 10 Pro smartphone
TCL pitched its entire new series of smartphones at the US$500-or-less price-range on its recent launch. Its flagship, the 10 Pro, runs on the Snapdragon 675 SoC, has quad rear cameras with a 64MP primary lens and a waterfall display; however, it may stand apart from competitors with similar specs due to its OEM's screen-enhancing in-house technologies such as NXTVISION.
This may be part of the rationale behinds its most recent achievement: this new phone has won Design Awards from the IF and Red Dot bodies for 2020. The TCL Plex, an older phone with similar own-brand display enhancements, has also won a 2020 gong from the former.
TCL has also announced that one of its non-smartphone products has attracted a similar accolade. Its LINKHUB AC1200 Wi-Fi router is also now a Red Dot Design Award winner. This device is rated to cover up to 120 square meters with wireless speeds of up to 1.2 gigabits per second (Gb/s), thanks to its (admittedly nicely-shaped) dual 6-decibel (dBi) high-gain antennae.
