It might not be the greatest looking mini PC out there, but the new PN62 model from Asus sure packs premium features that are rarely seen on small form-factor devices, and this also recommends it for business applications. No word on pricing and availability, for now, unfortunately.
The new model comes in a slightly bulkier 1.54 lbs case measuring 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.9 that allows for the inclusion of more premium features like a bigger and quieter active fan, which generates around 38 dBA in full load and 21.5 dBA in idle mode. Powering these new models are Intel’s Comet Lake CPUs up to a Core i7-10710U hexa-core CPU with integrated UHD Graphics. There also is room for up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, while the storage solution includes easily accessible HDD + M.2 SSD combos of up to 1.5 TB total.
As far as connectivity goes, the PN62 offers a wide array of options. Thus, there is support for WiFi6 + Bluetooth 5.0, 4x USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports, 2x USB-C 3.1 Gen2 ports, audio jack + 2x mics, IR receiver, HDMI output, a GbE jack, plus a 4-in-1 card reader. Users can also choose to include an additional port that can be either a COM connector, VGA out, DisplayPort out, extra GbE jack or a Thunderbolt 3 connector.
I first stepped into the wondrous IT&C world when I was around seven years old. I was instantly fascinated by computerized graphics, whether they were from games or 3D applications like 3D Max. I'm also an avid reader of science fiction, an astrophysics aficionado, and a crypto geek. I started writing PC-related articles for Softpedia and a few blogs back in 2006. I joined the Notebookcheck team in the summer of 2017 and am currently a senior tech writer mostly covering processor, GPU, and laptop news.
