With the G15 5515, Dell offers an entry-level gaming laptop. The case does not contain any high-quality materials but is completely made from plastic. The back part of the base unit has a dark gray color and the top of the lid and rest of the base unit are kept in a lighter gray. The light gray areas have some dark gray color spots. This color scheme is called "Phantom Grey Sprinkled."
The combination of a Ryzen 7 5800H APU, GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU, and 16 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode allows you to play all the current games smoothly. Generally you can select the full display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and high to maximum quality settings. A power-hungry game such as "Cyberpunk 2077" requires some compromises in the quality settings. At only 512 GB, the storage space is a bit meager for a gaming laptop. However, you can also upgrade here, since the laptop offers space for a second NVMe SSD (M.2 2230 or M.2 2280).
The 15.6-inch display (FHD, IPS, 120 Hz) is not very impressive. The brightness and contrast are lower than they should be, and the color space coverage also turns out too low. In addition, the panel produces PWM flickering. On the positive side are the matte display surface and a decent color reproduction.
The Dell laptop also strikes a good figure beyond gaming. In everyday operation with Office and Internet, the laptop runs quietly or even silently. This is accompanied by an excellent battery life that even many office laptops are unable to reach.
