The RTX 3050 is ultimately a budget graphics card meaning users shouldn't be paying anything more than budget prices. For $700 USD, the Dell G15 is a decent alternative to older GTX 1650 or GTX 1660 Ti laptops.
Allen Ngo,

Dell is currently hosting a sale on its 15.6-inch G15 gaming laptop for $280 USD off the original launch price. This particular system is the latest mid-range gaming model from Dell and not some older last generation design.

The deal is notable for its respectable specifications relative to the low asking price. Users would be getting the new hexa-core Ryzen 5 5600H CPU alongside the GeForce RTX 3050 and even a 120 Hz FHD display. We've blasted the RTX 3050 already for its mediocre gaming performance, but this $700 USD sale price is much more agreeable all things considered.

The main drawback to the deal is its meager 8 GB of system RAM and 256 GB SSD. Thankfully, both are upgradeable and so owners won't be stuck with such limited capacities for the life of the product.

We've yet to review the Dell G15 Ryzen, but don't expect this hefty system to be as thin or light as the MSI GS series or Asus Zephyrus series.

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600H CPU
  • GeForce RTX 3050 w/ 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM
  • 15.6-inch 1080p 120 Hz, 250 nits
  • 6 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM (upgradeable)
  • 256 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD
  • 3x USB-A, 1x USB-C, HDMI, RJ-45, 3.5 mm headset
  • 26.9 x 357.3 x 272.8 mm
  • 2.45 to 2.57 kg

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
