The Ryzen 5000 Embedded CPUs feature AMD’s Zen 3 architecture and offer up to 12 cores and 24 threads. The key differences between the Ryzen 5000 Embedded and desktop parts are spec reductions like lower clock speeds, fewer cores, etc, for the embedded chips.

Lenovo is expanding its lineup of mobile workstation laptops with a new AMD option: The Lenovo ThinkPad P15v Gen 3 takes aim at entry level segment of this market and it is the first ThinkPad that combines AMD Ryzen 6000 with upgradeable DDR5 memory.

AMD Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” CPUs presumably comprise Ryzen 5 7600/7600X, Ryzen 7 7700X/7800X, and Ryzen 9 7900X/7950X. The chips are rumored to be launching on September 15. AMD has now officially given a definite time frame for the release of the next-gen Zen 4-based processors.

The recent appearance of an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X engineering sample (ES) on UserBenchmark has sparked a series of events that has left the controversial synthetic benchmark taking cheap potshots at Team Red. The Ryzen 5 7600X even managed to outscore a Raptor Lake i9-13900 ES, leading UserBenchmark to label AMD as “Advanced Marketing Devices”.

An apparent AMD Ryzen 5 7600X engineering sample has turned up on the UserBenchmark synthetic benchmark. The Zen 4 “Raphael” CPU churned out an average bench score of 117%, placing it above Intel’s Core i9-12900K. AMD has released the Adrenaline 22.7.1 driver update for eligible systems. The update is a big one, bringing with it AMD Noise Suppression, Radeon Super Resolution to more notebook GPUs, Radeon Boost to more titles, and an incredible bump in OpenGL performance.

However, while the Alder Lake part has to make do with Iris XE Graphics (80 EUs), the Rembrandt chip can boast of having an RDNA2-powered Radeon 660M iGPU.

AMD is reportedly going to launch the Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” CPUs in September. Per the company, Zen 4 will bring a substantial performance increase over Zen 3. The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 costs less than 1,000 Euros (~$1,004) while still offering a lot. A Pantone Validated OLED panel is just the cherry on top. A Ryzen 5 and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 guarantee high performance. While the case made of plastic and aluminum looks high-quality and sturdy, the connections available are a bit disappointing.

The AOKZOE A1 is an 8-inch gaming handheld powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U and Radeon 680M. Shipping with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, the AOKZOE A1 will be available to order on Kickstarter from tomorrow, starting at US$899. Prices will reach US$1,299 for the top-tier variant, though.

For handheld 720p gaming, the new integrated Radeon 680M can outperform the Iris Xe by wide margins even though GPD is charging the same price for either option.
