AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D appears 38% faster vs Ryzen 7 5800X3D while trailing behind Ryzen 7 7700X in SiSoftware Processor Arithmetic benchmark
With the launch of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, AMD took the lead in gaming from Intel’s Raptor Lake processors. However, since the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D cost US$699 and US$599 respectively, many consumers are looking towards the much cheaper Ryzen 7 7800X3D which is slated to cost US$449. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is scheduled to go on sale on April 6. Now, thanks to the CPU making a stop at SiSoftware, we have an idea where the chip might land in relation to other AMD Zen 4 processors.
The SiSoftware Processor Arithmetic benchmark, which was first spotted by momomo_us, placed the Ryzen 7 7700X3D in between the Ryzen 5 7600X and the Ryzen 7 7700X. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D managed a score of 395.07 GOPS vs 418.87 GOPS of the Ryzen 7 7700X and 329.92 GOPS of the Ryzen 5 7600X. This is to be expected since the Ryzen 7 7800X3D operates at a lower boost clock compared to the Ryzen 7 7700X.
Furthermore, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D looks very impressive when compared to its direct predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as the Zen 4 CPU is up to 38% faster in the SiSoftware Arithmetic benchmark.
That said, SiSoftware results aren’t indicative of the gaming performance of a CPU. So, like the last-gen Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D could end up bringing the fight to flagship Intel and AMD parts in gaming workloads.
