It's a success. A quad-core SoC, Android 4.4.2, a Full HD display, and all that for only 200 Euros (~$256). The 8-inch Acer Iconia Tab 8 tablet offers a lot of good hardware at a low cost. As our review shows, what looks good on paper looks good in practice too.

Stylish device with rough edges. Sony's Xperia T3 was launched in Germany under the name Sony Xperia T3 Style. It fuses a 5.3-inch screen with the known, appealing design and a swift chipset in a mid-range model. Some minor shortcomings prevent it from standing out decisively from the competition.

Android tablet gaming. New performance records, useful gaming features, and an integrated stylus are to take gaming on a tablet one step further. An attractive price of 299 Euros (~$387) fused with minor production flaws; the Shield tablet was quite convincing in our test.

Stunning screen. Samsung also relies on a high-resolution, Super AMOLED screen in its Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It is the tablet's absolute highlight. The in-house processor is good, but cannot compete with current high-end SoCs. Otherwise, the equipment is state-of-the-art and even includes LTE. Only better speakers and NFC would be appreciated.

Hurray for three SIMs. Acer's Liquid E700 Trio features a total of three SIM-card slots. A high-performance quad-core SoC, 2 GB of RAM, and a lush 16 GB of flash memory alongside an HD IPS screen are also part of the bundle. A price of 200 Euros (~$256) is demanded for that. A tasty mix in a restrained casing that will not only be interesting for corporate customers.

Nexus rival. The Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 is designed to vie with the Google Nexus 7, and with its in-house processor and high-resolution LTPS display, it seems to be an interesting competitor in the 7-inch segment. The LTE tablet leaves a good impression in many respects; however, it shows some flaws in terms of software.
