New information indicates that Xiaomi is set to begin the Android 12 rollout in the near future. The company will start by sending out the update in its home market to the Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and Redmi K40 Pro Plus. Its Snapdragon 888-powered devices, essentially.

Realme has already launched the GT Master and GT Master Exploration Editions in China, as "designer" variants of its current 2021 flagship. Now, a new leak claims that the phones are also going to launch in Europe soon. They will apparently start in the ~US$400 category for SKUs with 6GB of RAM.

Seeedstudio has released a new carrier board for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, allowing the device to be used as a mini router. iQOO has confirmed that it will launch new, 8-series premium Android smartphones in mid-August 2021. Samsung has announced that it is taking orders for its Galaxy S7 Tab Fan Edition (FE) in the US from today (August 5, 2021). The tablet will be available in its Wi-Fi and 5G variants, the former of which is offered in a variety of colors whereas the latter comes in just one. Nvidia’s plans to acquire UK-based chip designer Arm in a deal worth US$40 billion looks like it could be unraveling. A security assessment undertaken by the UK government has raised national security concerns. This follows suggestions that other regulators, including the European Commission could also terminate the deal.

Lenovo is now slated to augment its Tab P-series tablet series with a new variant soon. This "P12 Pro" is painted as a device with a former flagship processor - which is a surprise as its predecessor has a mid-range SoC. It is also depicted as having more RAM and running Android 11.

MIUI code has revealed that an upcoming Xiaomi device, expected to be the Mi Mix 4, will offer ultra-wideband support. The famed and often reliable leaker Ishan Agarwal has published new posts containing some intriguing full-spec claims for the possibly-imminent Huawei P50 Pro. They pertain to the phone's putative 4G/LTE-only variant, which apparently has quad rear cameras, 3 of which are high-res sensors with different and occasionally quite surprising functions.

Realme has just overtly teased a "newcomer": a smartphone with the simple, snappy name of Flash. Shortly afterward, GSMArena claimed to have been sent some teasers with a succinct explanation for this new moniker: it will launch with compatibility for the OEM's rumored new MagDart wireless charging system.

Apple, along with Huawei, has usually been the first to showcase the latest silicon manufacturing process, but it appears TSMC's 3 nm may offer a deviation from that. Due to changes in typical production schedules, it looks likely that Qualcomm and MediaTek will have that honor next year, with Apple having to wait till the release of the A17 Bionic in 2023.

MediaTek has announced the launch of the Kompanio 1300T SoC for high-end tablets. The Kompanio 1300T is a 6 nm part that resembles the Dimensity 1200 SoC in quite a few specifications. Additionally, the company also announced the T750 5G CPE chipset for use in equipment such as routers and access points.
