OPPO Reno 7 set to rival the Redmi Note 11 Pro thanks to a MediaTek Dimensity 920 and overall impressive hardware

A few days ago, a leak from China provided some early details of the upcoming OPPO Reno 7 series. A new leak has now also managed to reveal all the major details of the cheapest phone in the lineup, the Reno 7, with the mid-ranger looking like a prime time rival to Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi Note 11 Pro. 

Going by the leak, the Reno 7 will sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED made by BOE. Under the hood will be a Dimensity 920, the same chipset expected to underpin the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and a slight upgrade on the Reno 6's Dimensity 900. That should offer performance on a similar level to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 778G. Performance overall should be solid as well, thanks to LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. 

Camera-wise, the Reno 7 is tipped to feature Sony's 50 MP IMX766. That competes rather well with the Redmi Note 11 Pro's proposed 108 MP camera which should be the ISOCELL HM2. The 50 MP main camera will be joined by an 8 MP IMX355 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro lens. At the front will be a 32 MP IMX615. 

NFC, a Z-axis linear motor, a 4500 mah battery, and 65 W charging round up an impressive spec sheet that looks eerily similar to what Xiaomi is tipped to offer on its Redmi device. Pricing should be the real decider, and Xiaomi likely has an edge there. Like the Redmi Note 11 series, OPPO is expected to launch the Reno 7 series in November. We'll keep you updated.
