Leaked Google Pixel 6 ad provides official pricing details for the imminent flagship
The Google Pixel 6 series is set to debut on October 19. All essential details of the phones have been laid bare at this point but pricing remains unconfirmed. Until now, at least, as a leaked Pixel 6 ad has revealed pricing for the phone in Australia.
Going by the ad, Google will sell the Pixel 6 in Australia with a starting price tag of AUD 999. That converts into US$741 at current exchange rates. International pricing rarely works that way, though, with markets outside the US typically getting phones at more expensive prices.
The best indication for the Pixel 6's pricing in the US is the Pixel 5. Google launched the Pixel 5 in Australia for AUD 999, the same as the Pixel 6 has now been advertised, but it was sold in the US for US$699. It's impossible to provide an exact figure but current information indicates the Pixel 6 will cost either US$699 or US$749 in the US. US$799 is a slim possibility as well, though we expect Google to undercut the iPhone 13.
The leaked ad touts a few other details of the Pixel 6, including Tensor, Google's Titan M2 security chip, and the highly-anticipated Magic Eraser feature. We won't have to wait much longer in any case—launch beckons.
