AMD Radeon RX 6400 suffers a double digit performance decrease on PCIe 3.0

TechPowerUp has benchmarked the AMD Radeon RX 6400 on PCIe 3.0 and has found out that the card experiences meaningful performance degradation. For instance, in Doom Eternal, the RX 6400's performance drops as much as 43% compared to the performance registered on PCIe 4.0.

AMD's upcoming Navi 31 high-end GPUs could be the first gaming models to feature PCIe 5.0 support

Twitter user Kepler_L2 reports that AMD's upcoming RDNA3-based Navi 31 high-end GPUs appear to offer PCIe 5.0 X16 support according to the latest AMD’s GFX11 architecture patches for Linux. Nvidia's Ada Lovelace next gen GPUs could get the same treatment, but rumor has it that these might launch at a later date.

Nvidia and AMD may turn to TFLOPs wars with their upcoming AD102 and Navi 31 GPUs later this year. New leaks suggest that the Nvidia Lovelace AD102 RTX 4090 (?) GPU could very well hit the 100 FLOPs FP32 performance mark with a 2.7 GHz or higher boost clock. AMD is not expected to be far behind with leaks suggesting a 90 TFLOPs number for the Navi 31 RX 7900 XT.
