NVIDIA has decided to cut the price of its latest graphics cards in Europe and the UK, shortly after releasing the pair. Applying only to Founders Edition SKUs, the MSRP adjustment may owe to exchange rate fluctuations.

The RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 are a little over two months old, but NVIDIA has already sought to reduce the MSRP of both Founders Edition SKUs in Europe and the UK. Originally, NVIDIA charged €1,469 for the RTX 4080 Founders Edition, a significant generational price jump from its predecessor. For reference, NVIDIA priced the RTX 3080 FE at €699, although stock scarcity prevented most people from securing any RTX 3080 at MSRP.

By contrast, the RTX 4090 Founders Edition debuted for €1,949, €450 more than the RTX 3090 FE. In other words, the RTX 4080 FE arrived for a mere €30 less than the RTX 3090 FE. Now, NVIDIA has made its first RTX 40 series cards more price competitive, albeit only by small margins. Specifically, NVIDIA has shaved approximately 4.7% off the pair’s original MSRPs, a figure that is just shy of recent US Dollar to Euro exchange rate adjustments.

Hence, the RTX 4080 FE now carries a €1,399 MSRP in the Eurozone, a €70 reduction. In comparison, the RTX 4090 now officially costs €1,859, a €90 saving on the card’s original MSRP. Likewise, the RTX 4090 is down to €1,599 in the UK, a £100 saving on its launch price. As always, NVIDIA’s board partners are free to charge what they want for their custom cards, and there is no guarantee that NVIDIA will have any Founders Edition models in stock across every Eurozone country. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether NVIDIA will increase both MSRPs should the Euro return to parity with the US Dollar again.
