Anbernic has released plenty of gaming handhelds this year, with the company introducing the RG505 and RG353M last month alone. Now, it has presented the RG35XX, which is apparently the device’s final name. As its name implies, the RG35XX has a 3.5-inch display, which is said to be an IPS panel. Additionally, the small display is thought to operate at 640 x 480 pixels in a 4:3 aspect ratio, mirroring other recent Anbernic gaming handhelds.
The RG35XX possesses a 2,100 mAh battery too for up to 5 hours of battery life, as well as two MicroSD card readers, an HDMI port for external display output and 256 MB of built-in storage. If the latter specification was not enough of a giveaway, then the RG35XX is a budget model with ARM Cortex-A9 CPU cores instead of the usual Cortex-A55 ones on which many Anbernic gaming handhelds rely.
The device’s budget nature will be reflected in its price, which @RetroHandhelds estimates will be between US$60 and US$70. Anbernic has not shared a precise release date yet, but it has outlined that the RG35XX will rely on Linux, will weigh 165 g and will be available in Grey, Transparent Purple and Transparent White colourways. Presumably, Anbernic will share more details about the RG35XX in early 2023.
