Motorola's MotoMods were the last reasonably successful attempt to make modular smartphones with hot-swappable features, and now it appears that Huawei plans to introduce something similar. However, while MotoMods communicate via pogo pin connectors, Huawei and Honor's accessories will use Bluetooth, as recent Bluetooth SIG certifications suggest.

The OEM OPPO is now rumored to have a refresh for its A9 smartphone in the works. Its "2020" upgrade apparently involves the Snapdragon 665 SoC, quad cameras and a single 8GB/128GB SKU. It is also now linked to an impressive enough 5000mAh battery.

The Navi 14 leaks keep on coming, with a new set of benchmark listings revealing more information about the upcoming 8 GB SKU. Early indications are that the 8 GB Navi 14 GPU, codenamed the GFX1012, will have a 1.9 GHz boost clock and 24 CUs like its 4 GB sibling, but that it will have significantly better performance than previous benchmark listings suggested. The GPU may still nestle between the GeForce GTX 1650 and GeForce GTX 1660 though, with the latter having a significant edge over the Navi 14 in Compubench.

The two patents that Huawei filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office at the end of May — and were published last Friday — reveal one color scheme known as "Breathing Crystal" alongside a black/gray design. An 18 core Cascade Lake-X recently impressed on Geekbench, and now its 10 core sibling is doing the same. The processor, confirmed as part of the Intel Core 10000 X-series by prolific leaker @momomo_us, achieved a multi-core score that surpasses that of the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X and the Core i9-9900K.

A device with the novel model number OPPO PCKM00 has appeared on the Geekbench website recently. It is described as having 8GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 675 processor and as running Android 9. This phone has attained a relatively good score for these specifications.

Samsung has been rumored to bring out a second version of its Galaxy M30 smartphone for some time. A new listing in the Bluetooth SIG database indicates that this is in fact the case. A blog has also found a 2nd new phone from the same OEM: a potential 2019 Galaxy XCover.

The OEM Vivo recently released a teaser in which it hinted that its upcoming flagship, the Nex 3, would have a state-of-the-art waterfall display. Now, the product line's manager, Li Xiang, has revealed a photo of a phone in which the screen appears to cascade over the side of the device. However, the effect has already been disputed on social media.

Tiger Lake U is not expected to arrive until Q2 2021 at the earliest, but two listings have already appeared on UserBenchmark, and they put the current crop of mobile processors to shame. Tiger Lake U is likely to be Intel's first 15 W chips to be built on a 10 nm FinFET process and will feature Gen12 Intel UHD Graphics too.

AMD may be storming away with multicore performance crowns, but Intel is not going down without a fight. Now, an 18 core Cascade Lake-X processor has appeared on Geekbench, and it has the AMD Threadripper series in its sights.

A device with Redmi branding and the model number M1908C3IC has been certified by the Chinese telecomms authority TENAA. It is believed that this device will be called the 8 on launch. It has dual cameras and 3 RAM SKUs.

Xiaomi has announced that it will launch the Mi A3 as India's next Android One device on August 21, 2019. However, Amazon may have spoiled its reveal by publishing listings for its SKUs ahead of time. They show that these phones will at least start at INR 14,998 (~US$210).
