Acer announced two new convertible Chromebooks today. The Chromebook Spin 713 is a premium Chromebook with a 2K 3:2 13.5-inch screen aimed at enterprise users and those in search of a high-end Chromebook. The Chromebook Spin 311 is a smaller 11.6-inch Chromebook designed for students and the education market.

Entry-level HP systems like the Pavilion or even Envy series are notorious for their difficult end-user serviceability. Not only are the bottom panels sharp and difficult to remove, but screws are frequently hidden underneath glued rubber feet to discourage simple RAM or storage upgrades.

Lenovo has released more details of a new addition to the IdeaPad Slim 7 line of notebooks. Xiaomi has launched a wide range of affordable laptops for the Indian market. The Mi Notebook 14 is restricted to the 10th-generation Intel Core i5-10210U CPU, while the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition allows users to upgrade that to an Intel Core i7-10510U. Prices start at INR 41,999 ($555) for the base variant and max out at INR 57,999 ($765). Both notebooks will be available for purchase on June 17th on Xiaomi's website.

Intel has finally detailed the Lakefield family of processors based on the Foveros 3D packaging tech. The current Lakefield lineup includes the Core i3-L13G4 and the Core i5-L16G7, which are 7 W penta-core parts featuring a 10nm Sunny Cove and four 10nm Tremont cores. A Samsung Galaxy Book S powered by the Intel Lakefield Core i5-L16G7 processor has popped up on Samsung Canada's online store making this the first x86-based Galaxy Book S. The Lakefield-based Galaxy Book S sports a similar design and spec sheet as the ARM-based variant with the exception of Gigabit LTE connectivity and a shorter battery runtime. Update: Samsung has now officially announced the Galaxy Book S powered by an Intel Core processor with Hybrid technology along with pricing info.

HP has refreshed its Elitebook x360 convertible lineup with 10th gen Intel Comet Lake-U CPUs, 5G networking, and optional OLED panels for the x360 1030 G7 variant. The new Elitebook x360 models also feature a redesigned keyboard, slimmer chassis, and offer both vPro and non-vPro CPU options.

It may look good in pictures, but you'd be better off with a more well-known brand with better quality control and warranty options.

Lenovo's mainstream 2020 ThinkPads are available for purchase in the US now. This includes the T, X and L series with models like the ThinkPad T14, ThinkPad X13 and ThinkPad L14. However, only the Intel models are available as of now. The ThinkPads with AMD Ryzen 4000 will follow in June.

A 3DMark listing of an unnamed Jasper Lake part has surfaced online. Jasper Lake-based Pentium and Celeron SKUs are touted to be based on the Intel 10nm Tremont architecture and may also feature Gen11 integrated graphics, which is a significant step up from the current Gen9.5 iGPU in Gemini Lake.

If you're looking for a super-light Core i7-1065G7 laptop, then the LG Gram 14 would be tough to beat. If you're looking for good Core i7-1065G7 performance, however, then almost any other laptop with the same CPU would outperform the LG.

You do not always have to pay a 4 digit sum for a good laptop. The Honor MagicBook for just 599 Euros offers a very good overall package with modern and fast components, a decent display, and a nice metal chassis.
