AMD's Ryzen series has been bringing down laptop prices across the board this year from large gaming laptops to super-thin Ultrabooks. The latest price cut involves a $50 '50OFF699' promotion on the 14-inch Inspiron 14 5000 convertible for a final retail price of $685 USD. The Inspiron 14 5000 is marketed as Dell's mid-range Ultrabook that sits in between the lesser Inspiron 3000 series and higher-end XPS series.
What makes the deal noteworthy are its respectable specifications relative to the asking price and small screen size. The Ryzen 7 3700U may be a last generation AMD CPU, but it's essentially neck-to-neck with most Intel Core i7 U-series CPUs in multi-threaded workloads. The 16 GB of upgradeable RAM, 512 GB NVMe SSD, and 1080p touchscreen are commonly found on laptops retailing for at least a couple hundred more than this Inspiron deal.
Even if the Inspiron 14 5000 isn't what you're looking for, Dell will continue to hold more sales on other products for the next couple of weeks in celebration of the July 4th weekend.
