Intel delays the 10nm 'Cannon Lake' CPUs until 2019

Initially planned for launch in 2016, Intel has delayed the launch of the 10nm based next-generation 'Cannon Lake' CPUs to 2019, which the company announced in their first-quarter earnings report of 2018. It is not the first time Intel has delayed 10nm process-based CPUs; furthermore, there is no mention of as to when in 2019 will Intel release 'Cannon Lake' chips.

The 7 nm Vega 20 is AMD's answer to Nvidia's Volta AI GPUs

In the recently announced Q1 2018 earnings report, AMD's CEO Lisa Su mentions that the company is already testing 7 nm Radeon Instinct GPUs, which should be sampling later this year. This GPU series is most likely part of the Vega 20 family that appeared in previously leaked roadmap slides. Spec-wise, the Instinct looks to be a solid competitor for Nvidia's Volta AI GPUs.

The graphics card demand drop is certainly a serious profitability issue for the Taiwanese suppliers, but this also means that gamers can now get the graphics cards they need for prices close to the original MSRP. Crypto miners are waiting to see if Bitmain's Ethereum ASICs are indeed worth it over GPU cards, however, if the upcoming GTX 11xx and AMD Navi cards would prove even better, we might see the price inflation scenario all over again.

40th anniversary Intel i7-8086K CPU specs and performance get leaked

The i7-8086K would be a limited anniversary edition marking 40 years since Intel first launched the 8086 16-bit microprocessor. Spec-wise, it is very similar to an i7-8700K, but the base and boost clocks got bumped to 4 GHz and 5.1 GHz, respectively. With proper cooling, the i7-8086K could be overclocked easily to 5.0 GHz and beyond.

Apple will release an updated Mac Pro desktop in 2019, and it will be a complete redesign

In an event hosted for creative professionals earlier today, Apple executives clarified that the new Mac Pro desktop will indeed be released in 2019. In a somewhat surprising move, Apple will be working with professionals outside of the company to refine the product, which the company says will be designed from scratch.

Dell has announced refreshes of the Inspiron 24 5000 AIO and Inspiron 27 7000 AIO bringing Intel 8th Gen processors and Nvidia 10-series graphics. Display options include matte touch screens and 4k UHD. Dell is placing an emphasis on the multimedia capabilities of these AIOs, particularly the 27-inch model.

Chuwi announces crowdfunded HiGame mini PC with Kaby Lake-G CPU

Chuwi's answer to Intel's Hades Canyon comes in the form of the HiGame mini PC, which packs Intel's Core i5-8305G CPU + AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL iGPU with 8 GB DDR4 system memory and 128 GB NVMe SSD storage inside a 6 x 6 inch case. Standard features include a Thunderbolt 3 connector and multi-monitor support, and users will be able to upgrade the system memory and the storage setup.

Intel announces new 45W 8th Gen hexacore 'Coffee Lake-H' CPUs led by the Core i9-8950HK

Intel has taken the wraps off the new 45W hexa-core CPUs belonging to the 8th generation 'Coffee Lake-H' family. The SKUs start from the quad-core Core i5-8300H and go all the way up to the hexa-core Core i9-8950HK. As one of the new aspects of Coffee Lake, Intel is touting what they call 'Thermal Velocity Boost', a technology that offers a maximum turbo single-core boosts up to 4.8 GHz under certain conditions.
