Intel's CPU shortages have affected Asus's business

Asus claims its PC builder business (mainly the motherboard sales) has suffered due to Intel's 14 nm CPU shortages. Overall profits have seen a 39% year-over-year decline and the next few quarters will continue to hit Asus's profits, as the shortages are expected to last until Q2 2019. The gaming PC and server businesses are unaffected by these problems, however.

Leaked slides reveal AMD Radeon RX 590 specs and pricing information

Specs and pricing information for the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 590 based on the Polaris 30 architecture are now available. The Radeon RX 590 is said to have an MSRP of US$279. According to presentation slides accessed by Videocardz, the RX 590 will offer 12% better performance than the current RX 580. It is expected to be offered with a 'blockbuster launch bundle' with three free titles.

GTX 1060s on sale now upgraded to GDDR5X

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is still competitive at the sub-US$400 price bracket. It was originally released with 6GB of GDDR5 memory. A change to its product page on its maker's website now suggests that there are GDDR5X versions of the card.

Online listing for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC posted, then yanked again

The second installment of Red Dead Redemption has been announced as launching soon. However, this news is not great for PC gamers, as the game is thought to be only available for consoles. A recent listing by an e-tailer appears to have given some hopes that this may be wrong, then snatched it away again.

Windows has another new October update issue to fix

The newest Windows 10 update (1809, or October update) has been plagued with teething issues. Most recently, some users have documented one of them on Reddit. This bug results in the failure to bring up dialogs that prevent the loss of data through conflicts or duplication during transfer.
