Nvidia launches ray tracing driver support for previous-gen Pascal GPUs

The latest GeForce Game Ready Driver from Nvidia enables a limited set of ray tracing features for the GTX 1000-series. YouTube has amassed a 265 million-stong user based in the Indian market. Speaking at a recent Google conference, the service's CEO, Susan Wojcicki, projected that this number would grow further to 500 million by next year. The executive attributed this to the availability of 4G in this country.

An Nvidia graphics card has turned up on UserBenchmark with the prosaic name “graphics device”. The results in the benchmarks for the hardware are somewhat surprising, as the GPU seems to land somewhere between the GeForce RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 in terms of performance average. There was mention of a GeForce RTX 2070 Ti once before, but this was eventually explained away as a typo.

According to a new report by DigiTimes, the uptake of 7nm chips from TSMC was at its lowest 2019 ebb in the first quarter of this year (1Q2019). However, the company expects its orders to push its relevant processes to their full capacity in 3Q2019. The firm has also started using the improved EUV method for the production of 7nm dies.

TSMC initiates risk production for its 5 nm node, reveals performance details

Initially scheduled for mid-2019, risk production for the upcoming 5 nm manufacturing process was already initiated at the end of March. TSMC also finalized the 5 nm design infrastructure and it is currently testing this process through multiple silicon test vehicles. Improvements over the current 7 nm process include 1.8X increased logic density and a 15% performance boost.

TrendForce was predicting back in early 2019 that DDR4 RAM prices would see up to 35% cuts by Q2 2019, and this now appears to be indeed the case judging by the price trend data provided by CamelCamelCamel. A clock rate of 2,940.0 MHz has been recorded for a customized GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. The hardware was specially prepared as part of the Galax OC Gathering 2019. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 to be released in Q1 2020

15 years after the release of the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Paradox is finally announcing a sequel to the "cult" RPG game. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is set in modern-day Seattle, and the gameplay will include brutal first person melee fights, strong language, and hub-like levels with non-linear progression.

Razer made nearly US$80 million in gross profit last year: new report

Razer has released its financial report for 2018. It shows that the gaming company's revenues are now stands at US$274.2 million. The firm made $79.5 million in terms of gross profit last year, and also cut its losses by 4.3% compared to 2017.

This Zen-based high-end desktop processor (HEDT) was originally released in August 2017 and cost US$549 at the time of launch. The chip has eight cores and 16 threads, and it can offer a boost clock of up to 4 GHz.

AMD Ryzen 3000 support being rolled out to compatible motherboards

The AMD 'Matisse' Ryzen 3000 CPUs are still a couple of months away from launch but motherboards OEMs have started prepping for it by offering new AGESA updates that support the new processors. MSI, Asus, and BioStar have started rolling out AGESA v0.0.7.x that includes support for Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Other OEMs are expected to follow suit as we head closer to launch.
