AMD has released Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.8.2, an update that adds compatibility with HDCP 2.3 on the RX 5700 series of graphics cards. It also boosts performance while playing Control using DirectX 11 compared to the previous version of this driver. 19.8.2 may also address a range of glitches associated with this version.

The latest version of the Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition driver is now available for download. Known as 19.8.2, its most important addition may be support for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan. AMD also states that it may improve performance in Control by up to 10% under certain conditions. It also updates RX 5700-line GPUs to high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) version 2.3.

AMD also notes that this new version of Radeon Adrenalin software may clear up some issues left in 19.8.1. They may include the onset of mild stutter while starting a Fortnite session; an issue in which Rocket League hangs in response to task-switching; reduced performance in League of Legends during the same, and system instability while using RX 5700 cards that are being overclocked while a 3D application is still on.

However, version 19.8.2 may also have some bugs of its own. These may include stutter in a 240-hertz display with Radeon FreeSync on while also using an RX 5700-series card. Radeon VII cards may sustain higher memory clocks while idle or showing a desktop, whereas the use of RGB Fusion 2.0 may cause an RX 5700-equipped system to hang.

In addition, Radeon ReLive clips may exhibit damaged audio while desktop recording is enabled. All in all, it may be best to read the full list of issues prior to downloading Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition v.19.8.2 from its page on AMD's website.
