One variant of the new Ryzen 3000 mobile CPU series, the 3550H, has been launched in the form of the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 and FX507 notebooks. They are 15- and 17-inch laptops, respectively, both of which feature 4GB of inbuilt RX 560X graphics memory. They also have 16:9 FHD displays with minimal bezels and options on Radeon FreeSync.

The Ryzen 3000 series of CPUs - also formerly known as Picasso - has finally been released in laptops. Well, two laptops from the same new line by ASUS, that is. They are the 15.6-inch ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 and the 17.3-inch ASUS TUF Gaming FX507. Both models pack the 12-nanometer Ryzen 3550H processor, which has a 2.1GHz base clock, but can be boosted to 3.7GHz. It is paired with the RX 560X dedicated GPU.

The RX 560X is a 1.2GHz chipset based on the Vega 8 architecture and has 512 stream processors. It has a TDP of 35 watts and a 6MB cache. This GPU has 4GB of memory in both new TUF Gaming models. The FX505 and FX507 have LED-backlit full-HD (1920x1080) Anti-Glare IPS-level Panel with 45% NTSC and Radeon FreeSync. The FX507's panel has a 60Hz refresh rate, whereas this spec can be enhanced to 120Hz in the 15-inch version.

Both models come with a variety of storage options: either a 1TB 5400rpm hybrid drive; a 1TB 5400rpm S-ATA spinning hard drive; or a PCIe Gen3 solid-state drive (manufacturer not given) at 128, 256 or 512GB capacities. The new Ryzen 3550H ASUS laptops come in durable casings with minimal bezels, RGB-lit rear logos, optional tunable keyboard back-lighting and MIL-STD-810G ratings. They are not available for retail yet, but are projected to cost about US$789 for the FX505 and $900 for the FX507.
