Originally sold by Google as providing "faster access to the latest Android OS updates", the Android One program is proving just as fragmented as the rest of the Android ecosystem. With multiple eligible devices still waiting for Android 10 and others having received Google's latest OS later than their custom-Android siblings, has the Android One program failed to live up to Google's ambitions?

Samsung has launched its latest high-end smartphone display panel. So far, it has been tested by the eye-safety authority SGS and validation specialists UL, and found to have reduced blue-light emissions and energy-consumption values respectively compared to its predecessor. Therefore, the OEM asserts that this new product is ready to take the 5G era on.

The Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A30 are currently receiving their Android 10-based One UI 2.0 updates. The update to both phones double up as the February security patch, and has now been confirmed by users in Asia.

The latest APEX concept phone from Vivo does away with buttons or ports and introduces a seamless design that combines a FullView display extending on each side with an in-screen selfie cam / fingerprint sensor plus a 3rd gen Screen SoundCasting speaker. A new peek function for the upcoming Microsoft Surface Duo foldable device has been leaked. Another smartphone from Xiaomi has reportedly already broken the AnTuTu benchmark record recently set by the Chinese manufacturer’s Mi 10 Pro. Honor announced the Magic Earbuds at its MWC substitute event in Barcelona today. The Magic Earbuds look strikingly similar to the Apple AirPods Pro and feature 10mm drivers, hybrid feed-forward/feedback noise cancelation, and a 3.5 hour-uptime for continuous music playback.

Sony held a virtual press conference today in order to unveil its latest premium mobile device. However, it also made references to an intriguing device that was not the Xperia 1 II. The Pro is to have the same display and camera quality as this phone, but will also support mmWave 5G and have an HDMI port. Sony has formally revealed its 2020 flagship smartphone, and that it really is called the Xperia 1 II. This device has a 21:9 4K OLED display with the Motion Blur Reduction technology developed to step in for an up-to-date refresh rate. Available in China since August last year, Honor has finally given the 9X Pro a wider release. Announced at its All-Scenario Intelligence Conference today, the Honor 9X Pro features a 6.59-inch display, along with a Kirin 810 SoC, 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. The device also includes three rear-facing cameras, the main of which is a 48 MP sensor. There is a 16 MP pop-up camera too.

The View 30 Pro is packed full of impressive hardware, not least its five cameras. The device also includes 5G capabilities, a 7 nm chipset, a 4,100 mAh battery and supports up to 40 W charging. The device, which Honor launched last year in China, will ship with Huawei Mobiles Services (HMS).

Chinese gaming smartphone manufacturer Black Shark will release the highly-awaited Black Shark 3 on March 3rd. It is powered by a a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, making it the world's first 5G gaming smartphone. The device will also come with a 120Hz AMOLED panel, , up to 16 GB of RAM, and a battery that can be charged at 65W.

A new video of an iPhone claimed to run iOS 14 shows off a new grid-style multitasking view similar to the one running on iPadOS. Ben Geskin, the tipster behind this video, claims that this multitasking view is one of four options that will be available on iOS 14.
