Former Toshiba ultrabook division Dynabook has just launched its new G-Series models powered by Intel's Whiskey Lake-U CPUs. The Honor MagicBook pairs the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U CPU with the same RAM and storage options as the Intel counterpart. Lenovo brings a new version of its ThinkPad X1 Carbon to the CES. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 includes a revamped chassis with a Carbon-Fiber coating as well as the newest Intel CPUs and a brighter FHD screen option.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 4 convertible gets revamped for 2019 with a completely new chassis. For the first time ever on a ThinkPad X1 laptop, its completely made out of CNC-machined aluminium and not available in black.

Can the GeForce RTX 2080 fit in a chassis the size of a Dell XPS 15? Apparently so. Gigabyte has updated its most popular 15-inch laptop ever with CPU and GPU options normally reserved for thicker and larger gaming laptops. Day-to-day performance will also be boosted by Microsoft Azure AI.

The half-metal, half-leather laptop will be getting a second color option and a higher resolution display by the end of this month. Internal specifications are otherwise identical to the SKUs introduced last November. While the 4K UHD panel will cost extra, the new color will still start at $1300 USD.

The 1000-nit matte touchscreen will be significantly brighter than any consumer laptop or convertible in the market. In comparison, most Ultrabooks available today top out at just 300 nits or 400 nits for relatively poor outdoor visibility.

The 14.1-inch LapBook Pro will have bezels just 5.8 mm thick, 64 GB of soldered eMMC 5.1 storage, and an empty M.2 slot for expansion. Chuwi has also managed to include the webcam along the top edge of the screen unlike on the Huawei.

Acer's newest business laptop, the TravelMate X3410, is now available. Starting at US $900, the TravelMate X3410 is a thin-and-light business notebook powered by Intel's 8th generation U-series CPUs. As is the norm for business laptops, there are a bevy of ports and configuration options.

Do you still enjoy Steam on your Windows XP machine? Seems that's just too bad for you, then. Valve's prior announcement that it will cease support for Windows XP and Vista comes into effect today. Users still on these platforms were still able to play games, but lost access to all other Steam features, in 2018; now, they are losing access to the client as a whole.

Under normal circumstances, the most up-to-date version of Windows begins to drag in a majority of market share (defined as the percentage of PCs that run it) in the year of its release. Windows 10 1809 has not enjoyed this level of success so far. In fact, according to a new report by AdDuplex, it has only attained 6.6% of the total market share from 2016 to 2018.
