A group of trademark applications to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) have been discovered by LetsGoDigital that offer a number of names for an upcoming foldable smartphone from LG. The selection of names goes from the rather prosaic XF and XB, to the much more colorful Solid, Solidis, and Bendi.

Exynos 9820-powered Samsung Galaxy S10 benchmark results spotted online

Earlier today, the first benchmark of the upcoming Exynos 9820-driven Samsung Galaxy S10 surfaced on AnTuTu. The handset in question is internally referred to as "beyond2" and might hit the market as the Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975F). In this test, the Exynos chip was clocked at up to 2.7 GHz and the final score was 325,076.

AMD's Zen 2 "Rome" EPYC CPUs may double L3 cache per CCX for a total of 256 MB

A recent entry in SiSoftware's SANDRA database lists AMD's upcoming "Rome" EPYC CPU with double the L3 cache as prior Zen CPUs. Detailed as "16 x 16 MB L3," this would put total L3 cache for Rome at 256 MB across its 64 cores, utterly trouncing Intel's forthcoming Cascade Lake CPUs. However, this is still a rumor and should be treated as such.

The leaker IceUniverse has shared an image that appears to portray a Huawei phone with an Infinity-O-like display via Twitter. This tweet also suggests that the phone in question will be a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy A8s, and that this device will be released in December. However, the unnamed Huawei counterpart may beat the mid-range Galaxy to launch.

Although there have been a couple of leaks on Rome's performance, AMD's newest server CPU has never been put head to head against Intel's immediate competition, the new Cascade Lake based Xeon server CPU. However, Wang Dang of HKEPC has apparently gotten access to a Cascade Lake based system and reported the Cinebench score is achieved.

Samsung Galaxy S10 variants reportedly registered with Russian authority

Samsung devices with the model numbers SM-G975F, DS SM-G975F and SM-G975X have been spotted in a certification on the website of the Russian body ROSTEST. These numbers could well pertain to the Galaxy S10, and suggest that at least 2 variants of the upcoming flagship are undergoing official approval already.

Lenovo datasheet confirms existence of new Intel 9000 series mobile CPUs

A Twitter user going by the handle @momomo_us, who has some credit as a prolific leaker, has found a Lenovo datasheet of a laptop that features new Intel 9000 series mobile CPUs. While the document does not specify core count, clock speed, or other specifications, it does confirm that these CPUs are based on the Whiskey Lake architecture that launched in early October and implies that these new CPUs are refreshes of previous 8000 series Whiskey Lake CPUs.

Intel may be working on a 10-core Comet Lake-S desktop CPU

According to a Taiwanese forum thread that claims to have information from an inside partner meeting, Intel may be developing a 10-core consumer-grade CPU in the Comet Lake-S family. The CPU would be built on the 14 nm process and may use a dual-ring bus design, implying that the CPU will split cores between two dies.

Nokia to ditch the notch after the Nokia 8.1

Nokia has a launch event scheduled for December 5. While it remains unknown what devices will be unveiled on that day, it's almost certain that the Snapdragon 710-powered Nokia 8.1 will be one of them. A report from Gizmodo UK has some bad news for those who were hoping for a price tag under US$2,000 for Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone. According to a verified source, the device, which may end up being known as the Galaxy Flex, will cost from £1,500 to £2,000 in the UK market. At current exchange rates, that’s ~US$1,922 to US$2,561.

Chinese officials, citing "massive evidence," have accused Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix of colluding and fixing the price of DRAM. If the allegations are true, the three largest DRAM manufacturers in the world would be directly responsible for the massive price increase for DRAM over the past few years. This isn't the first time these three companies have been accused of price-fixing. Back in 2005, all three pled guilty to similar charges levied by the US Department of Justice.

Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, said in an interview with Famitsu that Square Enix was still working on the title and that development was "progressing favorably." He did mention that the company's marketing efforts were heavily focused on Kingdom Hearts III, which releases this January. Updated | Buried deep within the footnotes of AMD's announcement of Rome, it seems AMD is claiming an IPC improvement of about 29% when comparing Zen 2 to Zen 1. AMD did not disclose exactly how much more IPC Zen 2 had over Zen 1, but it seems 20% or more for at least some workloads can be expected.
