Every new day seems to bring yet more information on Samsung’s upcoming S10 flagships. A few days ago, information on the devices’ camera hardware surfaced. Today, though, the grapevine has blessed us with word on the flagships’ memory, with reports claiming that there will be an S10 model with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
12 GB of RAM is a shocking figure, no doubt, as most PCs don’t even ship with that much RAM. Having that much memory on a smartphone sounds like overkill, especially when one considers the fact that a flagship like the Pixel 3 XL features just 4 GB of RAM—much like the Galaxy S9. It’s unknown what model of the S10 will feature this amount of memory but we expect it to be very highly priced.
On the other hand, 1 TB of storage seems like a logical progression. The Note 9 already has a model with 512 GB of data, and 1 TB would be a direct upgrade on that. We’re not sure who exactly needs 1 TB of storage on their smartphone but more storage space never hurt anyone.
