Samsung Mobile has uploaded an image of a folding Samsung logo to its official Facebook page hinting at some possible news this week about the much awaited foldable smartphone. This could be an indication of Samsung announcing new details about the foldable Galaxy, or Galaxy X as we know it, at the upcoming Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco. Details such as a new UI that Samsung has exclusively developed for the foldable Galaxy are expected to be revealed at this event.

There's no doubt that this year's Surface Pro models are significantly faster than the last generation since Kaby Lake-R doubles the number of cores from Kaby Lake. The bigger question, however, is how much or little the models will throttle when under load. Performance throttling was abysmal on the 2017 series and it's just slightly improved for this latest iteration.

The 8-inch convertible is off to a good start as far as user interest is concerned. Nearly 400 backers have already pledged an average of $450 USD each for the device. We obtained an early sample of the unit and can vouch for its robust chassis quality and stable CPU performance with minimal throttling.

HP's best 12.5-inch convertible will be taking a hiatus in order to focus on the 13.3-inch EliteBook x360 1030 series. All of its features will be integrated into the EliteBook x360 1030 including Sure View and its super-bright backlight for outdoor viewing. HP says its 13.3-inch offering is small enough to fully replace the 12.5-inch model for the time being.

The new H133W-MY 2-in-1 convertible integrates a Snapdragon 835 SoC, as Weibu was unable to get hold of Intel's Gemini Lake ULV CPUs due to the ongoing shortages. Apart from the not-so-well-received SoC, the compact laptop packs 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a 13.3-in IPS screen with touch capabilities.

Google Chrome users who run the browser on Qualcomm Snapdragon-driven Windows 10 ARM laptops are facing performance problems due to the fact that these machines have to emulate this piece of code. Qualcomm has confirmed that an ARM port of Chrome is in the making, but it might take almost a year until it becomes available.

Unveiled at IFA 2018, the 15.6-inch Lenovo Yoga Chromebook convertible is now finally available for purchase. Sadly, there is a single configuration available for now, which carries a price tag that reads US$699 and features an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, and 128 GB of internal storage space.

In our HP Spectre x360 review, we found that GPU performance was very poor in games, where it often throttled down to 400 MHz, less than half of its rated clock speed. Thankfully, there is a solution that should prevent such throttling.

HP will be integrating some features mainstream consumers have been enjoying these past few years onto its upcoming Chromebook. Namely, the new Chromebook x360 14 will be getting USB Type-C charging and narrow 7.5 mm bezels for improved convenience and portability. Expect a launch in just a couple of weeks for a starting price of $599 USD.

Panos Panay opened up on why the Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 lack a USB Type-C port while the Surface Studio 2, Surface Go, and even the Surface Headphones have one such port. Panay insisted that USB Type-C will not be at the expense of the traditional USB Type-A port, which still is the connector of choice for most USB devices today. The Type-C connector will eventually make it into future devices but Microsoft is in no hurry to make it happen.

The Surface Pro 6 tablet is now available in black, as well as the usual platinum color option. Users can now choose among Intel's i5-8250U and i7-8550U ULV CPUs, 8 or 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB/ 256 GB/ 512 GB/ 1 TB PCIe NVMe storage capacities. The USB-C connector is still missing, but at least Microsoft lowered the prices for the high-end variants.

Dual-core Amber Lake-Y CPUs will debut on the Spectre Folio convertible when it launches later this month for $1400 USD. Perhaps not by coincidence, the conference was streamed live this morning in the very same city that Microsoft will be holding its Surface press event scheduled for October 2nd.

The sixth version of the Surface Pro 2-in-1 tablet was supposed to finally include USB-C connectors, but an early unboxing unveiled that this may not be the case. The overall design appears to be almost unchanged, however, the hardware was upgraded with gen 8 Intel ULV CPUs and improved iGPUs. The official unveiling is scheduled for October 2.

Since the arrival of the XPS 15 9575 convertible with 32 GB of memory has been pushed all the way into the first part of 2019, it seems that those waiting for the successor to the current generation will have to wait some more. According to Frank Azor, the next-gen XPS 15 convertible will not arrive in the first half of the next year.

The next update to Windows 10 may be rolled out in the next month. In fact, some leaks claim that this will commence on the same day on which the new Surface products are to be launched. However, for that to pan out, it leaves Microsoft with a lot of work to do in a very short space of time.

The latest leaked renders of the next gen Pixelbook tablet reveal a 2-in-1 design with a detachable keyboard. The tablet itself appears to feature at least one USB-C connector, thin speakers on each side of the display, a fingerprint sensor and acoustic cancellation microphone array around the edges.

Google has released the latest version of Chrome OS, and it includes support for Linux applications for the first time. Also baked in is Google’s Material Design 2.0 theme, which brings Chrome OS a little more in line with the look and feel of Android.

At its TechLife event at IFA 2018, Lenovo unveiled the world's first Qualcomm Snapdragon 850-powered 2-in-1 — the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS. We had an opportunity to play around with the new Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 notebooks at IFA 2018 and were glad to see that the 15 and 17-inch versions sport the '1D10' version of the NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. The '1D10' version of the MX150 can operate in a 25W TDP envelope, which should allow better performance in games and demanding applications.

It's not easy categorizing a growing lineup of products for consumers to understand when new models are constantly being introduced. Lenovo will be changing its Yoga branding to something more self-explanatory for shoppers and the general consumer starting with the new IFA 2018 lineup.

The intricate and unique watchband hinge of previous Yoga 900 models will be dropped in favor of more powerful Dolby Atmos speakers starting with the Yoga C930. Much of the core hardware and processor features remain identical to the outgoing Yoga 920.
