Users can now choose among Intel's i5-8250U and i7-8550U ULV CPUs, 8 or 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB/ 256 GB/ 512 GB/ 1 TB PCIe NVMe storage capacities. The USB-C connector is still missing, but at least Microsoft lowered the prices for the high-end variants.

The latest leaked renders of the next gen Pixelbook tablet reveal a 2-in-1 design with a detachable keyboard. We had an opportunity to play around with the new Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 notebooks at IFA 2018 and were glad to see that the 15 and 17-inch versions sport the '1D10' version of the NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. Both the ZenBook Flip 13 and Flip 15 sport even more slimmer bezels than their predecessors and come upgraded with the latest Intel 'Whiskey Lake-U' CPUs. The ZenBook Flip 13 features a unique Precision touchpad that doubles up as the Numpad while the ZenBook Flip 15 offers a PANTONE-certified display with NVIDIA discrete graphics.

The Toshiba Portege family has always been special with its matte touchscreens, integrated VGA ports, and unique magnesium alloy designs that look very different from the more popular Lenovo ThinkPad and Dell Latitude competitors. The latest 13.3-inch model will give a Surface-like experience while offering many more connectivity options than the Microsoft solution.

Acer is announcing updates to its Swift lineup at IFA 2018. The new Swift 3 and Swift 5 are powered by the new Intel 'Whiskey Lake-U' processors and retain most characteristics of their predecessors but feature the near bezel-less displays in the Swift 3 and the Swift 5 15-inch. The Swift 3 also comes with optional integrated 4G LTE.

The XPS 13 convertible is returning next month with refreshed Intel 8th gen Y-series CPUs. Dell will be sticking with the same design, but they have suggested that the series has been successful enough that a full refresh will almost surely happen sometime down the road.

The 13-inch Inspiron 13 7386, 15-inch Inspiron 15 7586, and Inspiron 17 7786 convertible notebooks will all carry similar CPU Core i5-8265U and i7-8565U options when they launch in early October. Their announcements supplement the reveal of Intel Whiskey Lake at this year's IFA.

The systems will carry new ULV Whiskey Lake and Kaby Lake options including the Core i3-8145U, i5-8265U, i7-8565U, and i3-8130U. The Windows version will have discrete GeForce MX130 options while the Chromebook version will integrate a passive stylus.

Somebody was apparently too hasty: The data-sheet of the Lenovo's upcoming convertible flagship for consumers is already online on Lenovo's own site – despite the fact that the Lenovo Yoga C930 has not been announced yet.

This week, Lenovo silently added the 10.1-inch Tablet 10 convertible to its portfolio. Since the Windows on ARM initiative did not impress too much with this year's Snapdragon-powered laptops, ARM is willing to take matters into its own hands and release CPUs specifically designed for ultrabooks and compact laptops. Earlier this year code commits showed up in ChromeOS that showed Google was adding support for 'AltOS.' New commits now show that the alternative operating system is likely to be Windows 10, but feasibility for the average Chromebook is questionable.

HP seems to have accidentally revealed all the specs for Intel's Whiskey Lake-U family of mobile CPUs, as the information was taken down soon after. Nevertheless, it is now known that there will be three models - the Core i3-8145U, Core i5-8265U and Core i7-8565U, HP also revealing core count, frequencies and cache memory configurations.

Although it might not affect all Dell XPS 15 9575 units that were patched with the latest BIOS update, it seems that at least some of this convertible's users are now facing a buggy trackpad. For now, the problem is being investigated by Dell's engineers, so a solution should surface as soon as possible.

Microsoft has been avoiding giving away the battery capacity of the new Surface Go and now we can see why. The small 26 Wh battery of the Surface Go has us wary about battery life as this is almost half the capacity of last year's Surface Pro.

Acer now offers premium builds for the Chromebook lineup. The latest Chromebook 13 and Spin 13 come with all-aluminum chassis and 13.5-inch IPS displays supporting 2256 x 1504 resolutions. Spec-wise, these notebooks come powered by Intel's gen 8 Core i3 and i5 CPUs coupled to up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB storage.

Also included is the docking keyboard, which comes with more ports.

The latest Bluetooth vulnerability may affect many more devices than last year's BlueBorne, because it can affect smartphones as well as laptops that integrate Apple, Google, Intel, Broadcom or Qualcomm hardware.
