A rumour from the South Korean tech forum Meeco says the Exynos 2400 has been approved for mass production, with samples ready to be delivered by June 2023. It will be Samsung's largest chip so far and is being closely monitored by TM Roh.

According to a new report, Qualcomm has started creating Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 engineering samples. Reportedly, Qualcomm will base the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 on TSMC N4 nodes, despite the chipset's slated 2024 release. Engineering samples are rumoured to reach 3 GHz across all 12 CPU cores, too.

NVIDIA has started selling a Jetson Orin NX system-on-module (SoM). Available with 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM, the Jetson Orin NX also has a 1,024-core GPU based on NVIDIA's Ampere architecture with 32 Tensor cores, as well as an 8-core CPU and is capable of delivering up to 100 TOPS of AI performance.

The new M2 Pro-powered MacBook Pros seem to suffer from significantly reduced SSD performance compared to corresponding equivalent M1 Pro models. Independent reviews show between 15% to 40% reduced SSD scores with the M2 Pro-based MacBook Pro 14. This is being attributed to the use of fewer, higher-density NAND chips in the M2 generation unlike what we've seen before in M1.

Radxa has presented the ROCK 5A, another single-board computer (SBC) by the company based on the Raspberry Pi form factor. The ROCK 5A will be available later this year with up to 16 GB of RAM, a Rockchip RK3588S chipset and eMMC 5.1 flash storage support, as well as a 40-pin GPIO header.

Samsung MX has reportedly greenlit its upcoming Exynos 2400 CPU. Mass production will begin later this year on Samsung's 4LPP node. It is said to feature a quad-cluster (1+2+3+4) design with a total of ten cores.

Apple officially unveiled the 5 nm M2 Pro and M2 Max SoCs today. The M2 Pro is available with 10-core and 12-core CPU options and comes with a 19-core GPU and 32 GB of 200 GB/s unified memory. The M2 Max uses the same 12-core CPU as the M2 Pro but ups the GPU core count to 38 and 96 GB of 400 GB/s unified memory.

Samsung has announced pricing and availability for the Galaxy Book2 Go series. Offered as the Galaxy Book2 Go and the Galaxy Book2 Go 5G, the laptop series comes with a 14-inch IPS display, a Snapdragon 7c Plus Gen 3 chipset and a 42.3 Wh battery, among other features. TSMC chairman Dr. Mark Liu has officially declared production of its advanced 3 nanometer (nm) process open, cutting the ribbon on the expanded fabrication unit at the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) for this purpose. OPPO has reportedly succeeded in its aim to develop its own application processor for mobile devices. Therefore, the company may be ready to release smartphones with this first-party chipset in the next few years. The breakthrough would put the Android OEM on par with a handful of others such as Google with its Tensor silicon.
