Of the big three in the PC space, Dell was the manufacturer that was most loyal to Intel's CPU. In their commercial Dell Latitude lineup, no system used AMD CPUs. With the newer Dell Pro lineup, this is no longer the case: Dell is finally offering AMD CPUs in models like the Dell Pro 14 Plus.

If you are looking at features, the ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 AMD offers pretty much everything you could want. This includes business specific things like a SmartCard reader, but also the support for a 5G WWAN module, modern Wi-Fi 7 connections as well as Thunderbolt 4.

The new ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 AMD left a good overall impression in our review. The situation is a bit mixed for the display, because the 1080p screen does not consume a lot of power, but it is only a 60 Hz screen and there is no option for a 120 Hz panel.

Two more AMD Ryzen AI 400 SKUs have shown up online. The Ryzen AI 9 465 and Ryzen AI 7 450 appear to be mid-cycle refreshes of their Strix Point predecessors.
