The latest data from Canalys shows that the North American smartphone market declined 19 percent for the last quarter compared to the same period in 2018. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has ordered the recall of a wireless charging pad sold by the company Imagine Nation Books due to a burn hazard. Apple has apparently delisted the LG UltraFine 5K Display from its online retail store. Anker has released details on its new PowerIQ chips to control its upcoming charging accessories. The OEM asserts that they are compatible with QuickCharge 3.0 and PowerDelivery (PD) platforms that charge at up to 100 watts (W). However, the first PowerIQ 3.0 product will be a 60W 2-port charger that can be used with a MacBook.

Samsung’s troubled Galaxy Fold looks set to get an official relaunch date in the couple of days, according to Co-CEO DJ Koh. Crytek explained about the process that went into making of ray tracing effects in the Neon Noir demo and said that most modern GPUs have enough computational power for implementing ray tracing (to various degrees). It looks like Intel’s 10nm fabrication woes might finally be over. Speaking at its 2019 Investor Meeting, Intel chief engineering officer and group president of Technology, Systems Architecture and Client Group, Dr Murthy Renduchintala, announced that Intel will begin shipping its “Ice Lake” processors in volume from June. He also announced the first details of Intel’s future 7nm designs.

The video game John Wick Hex has appeared in an interesting announcement trailer that gives gamers a brief insight into what the title holds for the grizzled hitman. The strategy game is being created by Bithell Games in collaboration with Good Shepherd Entertainment and Lionsgate. John Wick Hex will initially be available for the PC and Mac.

Concept renders and a brief video of the supposed successor of the iPhone XR have been published online. The device is expected to be the “cheap” member of the next series of iPhones and will wield lower specifications than the other 2019 smartphones.
