A picture purporting to be the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 has leaked, possibly showing what RTX 3000 reference designs will look like. Specifications for the RTX 3080 have been offered, too.

The AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT has graced 3DMark again, this on Time Spy. The processor has shown that it is capable of reaching 4.8 GHz, 300 MHz above the Ryzen 7 3800X. Improvements over even the Ryzen 7 3700X are negligible, though.

Asus recently decided to enable support for all four generations of Ryzen processors on its ASUS ROG Strix X570 motherboard. This means that everything from 2017's budget Ryzen 3 1200 to upcoming Ryzen 4000 parts will be compatible, thanks to a generous 256 Mb BIOS chip.

“Warhol” has apparently been leaked as the codename for AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series of mainstream desktop CPUs. SKU names and PCIe device IDs variants of AMD's upcoming "Big Navi" Navi 21 GPU across Gaming, Pro, and Apple-exclusive segments have leaked. Navi 21 will be largest die in the Navi 2x family and is expected to feature up to 80 CUs and 5,120 SPs. AMD would also be making available a Navi 10 Refresh to cater to budget and mid-range gamers as Navi 23 is likely to be comparatively more expensive owing to higher clocks and core counts.

The boost clocks reported by 3DMark for the 6-core / 12-thread Rocket Lake-S CPU suggest that this could be a replacement for the Comet Lake-S i5-10400 CPU. The disappointing part is that there are no performance gains as far as CPU cores go, as the Rocket Lake-S engineering sample proves to be slightly slower than the Comet Lake-S model. It does, however, deliver better graphics performance thanks to the new Xe iGPU.

Since these are "vintage" source codes, there should be no concern regarding possible hacks. Emulators for the original Xbox already exist and are said to already be using the leaked codes, but still cannot provide complete compatibility with today's PC systems. As for the impact of the Windows NT 3.5 source code leak, Microsoft chose not to comment knowing full well that snippets from the old OS can still be found lurking within the latest version of Windows NT 10.

AMD and NVIDIA are to launch their next-generation GPUs in September, according to a new report. Big Navi and Ampere announcements could be planned for this summer too, while price cuts are apparently incoming for current-generation cards.

Asus's in-house enthusiast overclocker Elmor could push the Intel 10th gen Core i9-10900K to a whopping 7.7 GHz on liquid nitrogen. The processor was running on an Asus ROG Maximum XII Apex Z490 motherboard and was paired with G.SKILL's DDR4-4000 RAM. Elmor could also push the RAM to a double data rate frequency of 6.6 GHz breaking yet another record.

AMD has now clarified that it will enable owners of X470 and B550 chipset-based motherboards to upgrade to Zen 3. However, this upgrade would be an opt-in irreversible "Beta" BIOS upgrade that would remove compatibility with some of the older Ryzen processor in order to make space for new Ryzen 4000 Zen 3 Vermeer AGESA code.

AMD has included two new AIB cards from Asus and PowerColor, which now support the new VBIOS firmware update that offers higher clocks and the 14 Gbps GDDR6 data rate. These cards come with the new firmware out-of-the-box. Gamers who buy an RX 5600 XT card before May 30, 2020 stand to receive two free games and a 3-month Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription.
